Re: 68 Four door build
I am still in shock also. Everyday I drive in I hope to see the door up and at night I am sure I hear the compressor kicking on. When I drive by at night it's just dark, no blue light from the welder or him sitting on the stool texting somebody about there project. He was incredibly knowledgeable about engines and parts and if I needed something he knew someone who had it. If I couldn't get my project to run right I would just drive over or he would come over and know exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I am going miss Tom a lot

Re: 68 Four door build
If you are interested in this build please pm me and I will put you in touch with Tom's widow.
What you would be buying is a 2011 Silverado chassis complete missing 1 exhaust manifold. There is a new rear axle with disc brakes but it is not installed. It is under the frame but not attached. We can put some wheels on it and it should roll. The following is a list of 67, 68 parts all in excellent condition. front clip with hood, cowl with windshield, two rear cab sections, doors and extra doors, short bed complete, bucket bench seat, suburban roof, rear section of suburban, 2011 engine harness with computer and instrument cluster, 2011 steering column, and body dolly. Registration for both vehicles is in hand. This is not an easy project but the hard parts are in place. This is a make offer deal, with a hope of getting about 5000. Tom really enjoyed this group and would have loved to see one of you finish his project. There is a trailer that is for sale if you dont have one and a lot of equipment if you are interested. Thanks for reading and good luck

Re: 68 Four door build
Before anyone asks, normally for sale posts are by seller only, and only in the classified section. In this situation the administrators are allowing this post to continue. Docrock has stated that you will be put in touch with the widow about the sale.

Re: 68 Four door build
since we have no takers for this project, we have no choice but to part it out. So flip through the pics and if you see something let me know. That 2011 chassis would be real nice under someones project. She is going to list the chassis on craigslist next week for 3500. the short bed is real nice and the front clip is excellent. Thanks Liz for the help.

Re: 68 Four door build
docrock, if the original burb rear is still there, the SPID says it has a no-spin. I am 99.9% sure that it has an Eaton HO72 with 4.57 gears as well. that axle is worth no less than 200. I don't know how involved with parting it out you are, just a heads up. Wish I could help out more.
