Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Ok I haven't messed with the grill any more I still need to go back and align it up and bolt her down, I did get rid of the alternator and get a 1 wire alternator easy peazy and she's charging now so there take that voltage regulator...and I did run her up and down the road today and this evening still have some bugs to work out still don't think I'm gettn full throttle, man she sure does sound good though... I went to a swap meet today and got the alternator and bought an after gas pedal still have to figure out what size length cable for it..this new aftermarket stuff is new to me...one of these days I'll put the hood back on it...going to a pick and save tomorrow with my son so I'll be looking around for some goodies....

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
well I took the ole truck out again today and went to Lowes and got some wood and some 4x4 posts for a ramp for my wife unfortunately she can't do steps anymore BAD KNEES..
I still have to go back for the 16 Footers with a car hauler and some concrete and deck boards.. I must say she has plenty of power now... everyone at Lowes was turning there heads when I was driving through there parking lot I wonder why and still no hood I really need to get it back on there... She's earning her keep, I went and visited the gentlemen that I got the engine from and he Liked it a lot... well guess what me too...

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Thanks T.J. Hmm fathers day is coming up and what does Randy want well I'm pretty sure he wants a 4" lift kit I see Rough Country has a 4" lift for 345.00 with shocks that's not too bad...I think it's time to lift it...stay tuned...

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Here's what I've been doing for the last 3 days. It was a job, the truck did great hauling the lumber had to use my brothers car hauler for the 16 footers...I moved the steps to the side...
Glad it's done...Now on to other things..I have to help my son change out some front axles and wheel bearings in his car... work is never done...

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Update Update, just been driving the ole truck more and more, Had a gentlemen come by and buy a brush guard that came off my sons truck and he said he had a 1936 chevy truck and wanted to know if I was interested in doing some trading on my truck...So I had to at least go look a 1936 chevy truck how many of those do you see, me none...
she has a 235 engine with the 3 spd and enclosed driveline..it would be a KOOL truck and my wifey could possibly get in it with it being lowered and the big running board. I could see this truck painted flat black with some stripping and would be KOOLER than heck of course I would prolly update the drivetrain but it would have to be a sweet deal....the only rust I saw on the truck was a 50 cent sized hole on the lower right cowl...the winshield still rolled out I mean this truck is 81 yrs old....Anywho just something to think about...

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
well I went and did it I've been debating changing over to a stepside bed with the spare cutout, I know a lot of people would rather have fleetside, but I think they look KOOL especially on a 4x4....So I found one and did some trading and got it bolted down I have to put my famous fake tina paint job on it but I LOVE it it'll look right at home...

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
Looks good Randy! I kinda like both type beds. A lot of the k10 tk (not talking c10's) are kinda custom looking to me. Too fancy. Going look good when you get your paint on there.

Re: Randy & Jakes 64 4x4 SLOW build
T.J. this bed looks to be rust free but it's not the fenders need work near the steps there pretty rough but they'll do for now until I decide whether to fix and patch or get some rust free fenders..I have to put a floor in it as all the wood was pretty rotted and gone.
I got out there today and decided to get my door jambs painted but the rain said different but did get the driver side primered... I have new weather stripping for the doors just sitting in a box in my bedroom, not doing any good in there... Oh and I adjusted the clutch pedal so I'm not kneeing myself in the face when I shift gears, and straightened up the steering wheel and added 4 bolts to the rear diff cover, when I got the diff's from my dad when he checked the gears he lost 4 bolts...Oh and I still have to replace the rear axle seals I have one side leaking...always something with these ole trucks...one thing at a time though...Is anyone else having trouble with photobucket.com I'm having trouble trying to upload pictures from my computer and phone....

I always have rubber neckers checking here out when I go out...Of course with that 402 rumbling.. I'm glad you decided to keep the bed steps I'd say they will come in handy... I would have liked to have them on my fleetside as well...
