Do you know... was it sprayed as is, or was a flattening additive added to achieve the desired look? Thanks again! Last edited by 72Cheyenne454; 12-23-2019 at 05:13 PM. |

Re: 1969 K10 CST Full Restoration
I'm wondering too. The link said the paint was a high gloss, but IronCanine stated it was satin. I think satin would be correct. Maybe wrong link....

It mixes 4 parts #1401 Hot Rod Black, 1 part #1070 reducer, and 1 part #1020 catalyst. No flattening additive used. I like it because it yields the same results every time. I painted my son's '70 pick up in pieces and all panels had the same sheen.

Re: 1969 K10 CST Full Restoration
Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words...but I must disagree about the show business. You've already got a built in audience here. Hell, I'm subscribed to most of your threads right now. You get a YouTube channel...get in the weeds on the finer points of these trucks, and my friend we are there. I'm actually surprised a channel like that doesn't already exist.

You'll see it when you put them side by side. The trailing edge of the fender spear is different. All the other pieces appeared to me to match up well with OE.

Don’t make the mistake of placing the LH lower door trim on the RH door and vice versa - it can be done, I know this to be true

Also, the clips with the double sided tape that hold the lower trim on have a top and bottom.

Real sunshine for the first time in what seemed like forever. A lot of folks with cabin fever showed up at the first cruise in of the year at The Varsity. It was exciting to show her for the first time...and be outside and dry!

Re: 1969 K10 CST Full Restoration
Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun watching folks come up and read the window sticker. Factory buckets are consistently a source of surprise for those not in our circle.
...And congrats on Truck of the Month Larry! Well deserved.

Took her out for a spin the other day and snapped a few shots. Posted a couple in the 4x4 section...here are a few detail shots.

Re: 1969 K10 CST Full Restoration
I finally got the A/C charged after a bit of an odyssey a couple of weeks ago. Took it initially several months ago, held a vacuum, but POA valve was stuck (had been rebuilt and plated). Removed POA, rebuilt again, re-plated again, re-installed and finally charged and blowing cold.

Well...most of her engine run time has been with the gear shift on "P". And she gets wiped down more than a truck should. But you are always kind-thanks.
Hey, here's a fun game I'll call, "What's On The Ground?" ...in the fourth shot (wheel well) below, what's that thing on the ground? '71-'72 only guys are at a disadvantage.
