Re: John's Project

fwiw, i really like the milled aluminum air cleaner. once you get everything on there then decide because i'm thinking the alt., brackets, etc. will break it up enough and really make the valve covers and air cleaner stand out for a 'finished' look.

Re: John's Project

Yeah I really don't go over to the TBSS websites much.

Thanks man I think I'll prob go with the ball milled, but something just keeps drawing me to that Chevrolet one.

As far as headers go my uncle has a set of shorties, not sure on brand, that he was going to use on a truck he built, but they changed their minds. So he was going to put them on his truck, but they didn't clear the motor mounts, and he didn't want to mess with it on his. So we are going to try and make them work on mine. If not I'll just buy a set of Hedman's. If I do I'm not sure if I'll go long tube, or shorties. Probably long tubes because I'm not going low enough to have clearance issues.

Re: John's Project

Nice work!!

And pics to boot

I say go with the ball milled, in my opinion the black just won't look right with those valve covers. You could always get some black valve covers to match it, then you could donate those to me

can't wait to see that thang in your truck, ought to be badass!!!

Re: John's Project

I'm with Joe. If you aren't using the whole black crinkle kit, the air cleaner will look out of place.

I like the aluminum air cleaner also. Wish I was just a bit closer so I could see it in person.

Go with chevelle 3/4 length's. If not for ground clerance, so you wont see them everytime you walk up to the truck. I cant stand seeing a nice truck and then seeing the collectors hanging underneath.

I cant find the set I have, they are dynomax's I believe. Were under $100 when I got them. Here are some on summit.

Re: John's Project

Thanks for the comments guys. Guess I'll go with the ball milled air cleaner. That seems to be the concensus. Well except for Joe, nice try man!

Don't think I'll be lowering the SS Dennis. We just enjoy driving it the way it is.

Thanks for the info on the headers bluex. I know what you mean by seeing the collector underneath the truck.

Re: John's Project

I bought these for my Blazer, but never got to use them. They were for the 78- up Malibu. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-68608/

Good looking TBSS, too.

Engine looks great, and I, too, would go with the ball milled aluminum air cleaner.

And congratulations on the camera. I wasn't sure you had it in yah

Re: John's Project

Hey, I like seeing the collectors under the truck. ???

That's like saying get a smaller blower so it doesn't stick out of the hood. What the hell?

Re: John's Project

Just difference of opinions. I personally don't like seeing the header collector under a truck. Granted lower the truck less likely you are to see it.

Also wouldn't have a blower on mine either.

Re: John's Project

Now don't go there. No need to add fuel to his argument.

I like blowers, just don't want one on my truck.
