Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Today I applied what I hope is the last coat of paint on the 67 steering wheel I restored. I started working on it 4 years ago but got side tracked working higher priority projects.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Thanks, the process isn't difficult but involves a lot of sanding. Always a risk when not having a paint booth, but there was no wind this morning so I went for it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
I need to do that to my '68 Wheel. I tried to get the OE Stock color spray paint FAWN, but I'll have to settle for Nissan Driftwood Sand.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Just remember that it's a paint chip in a catalog and not actually a furriner color! When I painted my '56 Chevy wagon, I let my wife pick the blue color painted lower part from the Ditzler book. Could have just as easily gotten the turquoise for that year, but I'd already picked good old GM #11 for the white instead of the cream color.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
For a bit now my battery meter hasn't moved, finally bugged me enough to check the fuses, when I pulled the driver's side apart the glass separated. I stuck in a normal one in (which is way to long) but that allowed the battery meter to come back alive.
I wanted to get Littelfuse SFE4BP SFE, but got Bussmann Division SFE-4 Auto because they'll come in tomorrow (via Amazon). Hopefully it will fit properly! After that, I'll not drive or see my truck for awhile - which makes me sad. I'm having to move to Atlanta, Ga on Saturday to keep my position at WarnerBros. Discovery (my remote work status was revoked) and I must report to the campus there. My youngest will be keeping up the house here in Texas, while I hunker down in a little apartment. Kind of sucks but I am trying to see it as an adventure. After being here in my home for nearly 25 years and twice as long in Texas, it surely will be different. Here's the truck, nicely tucked with her cover on to keep the dust off while I am away. See you labor day or perhaps Thanksgiving Good 'O Truck! :'(

These Bussmann Division SFE-4 Auto fit perfectly! I recommend these and I love the little case, reminds me of the old days getting little boxes of fuses.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Today I installed an alternator bracket that I lengthened and modified to work with my M/T valve covers. I made a temporary one a couple of years ago until I had a way to heat/bent metal to match the curve needed to clear the alternator. This was a good project to justify an oxy/acetylene torch for the garage.

It’s really something how those two fuses cover a lot of territory of the truck. The ole glass fuses and OE fuse panel are still going strong on my 72’ Now back to the thread: I ordered a tri fold tonneau cover for my 8ft C10 bed.

Spal 16 inch pusher fan came today . This is for the 72 even though I put a new Cold case radiator in it and it never got over 190 on my trip to Tennessee I wanted it for towing and will come in handy when I install the AC

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
.
Replaced the 2nd gear servo in my 700r4 with the "Corvette" upgrade. The goal was to tighten up the 1-2 shift. Once removed, the size of the opening in the divider ring at about 2.3 inches revealed that the one installed was not the weakest servo (4-cyl, v6) but the second weakest (v6-v8) of the stock GM servos. I purchased just the upgrade kit and so had to disassemble and reassemble replacing the divider ring and its mate with the parts from the kit. Best 27 dollars I've spent on the truck! No other bang for the buck will come close to this. Holy Bjeezus man this thing shifts so much more to my liking now. -Kevin

That does look nice. Looks like it goes all the way to the edge of the flat section covering up stake pocket holes. So many dont.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Thanks Mark. I was concerned about the dimensions and fit because it is listed for a square body 1973 to 1986 truck.
I asked the manufacturer for specific dimensions and they wouldnt/couldnt offer any. I wanted to cover the stake pockets and was told it did. This fits our year trucks great width and length wise.
