Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

Ah, GM is having some hard times and looking for money under every rock. Good thing Chevy Duty complied...they might have been forced out of business.

On similar note, maybe we should all join forces and just go out, at the same time, and buy new Chevy Trucks. Think we could bring them out of the hole they're in?

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

We could just start a new cool slang word. Anything that is cool is now Chevy. Like "Wow man, that boat is real chevy". Or, "That was a real chevy thing to" or "Just chevy down dude, you're too up-tight", or even "Chevy it, this party's getting way our of control."

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

humm, at the current rate of income "GM" -or- "Chevy" will be out of business anyway....The inability of american companies to produce products people want...the CEOs of these companies moving operations overseas for cheaper labor makes me sick. So I guess getting the name CHEVY back under control is a needed milestone to spend money on....

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

Not surprising to hear of this. Volkswagen has been doing this for several years now, threatening to sue if a vendor does not stop using the VW name or logos in their businesses EVEN if the vendor is selling parts that VW no longer makes. Pissed a lot of guys off. Some prospective new VW buyers were so turned off they vowed to never buy another one.
Is this where GM is heading also? Look at the name of this forum....Chevy Talk. What will it become?
I don't think much of the current "public relations" they are using.

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

These struggles over brand names have been going on for years , must keep the lawyers happy . We had one here in Spokane , one of those indoor go - kart rental joints used the name Naskart , pretty clever , till they got the call from the lawyers at Nascar . Apparently they didn't want anyone making the mistake they were paying $20 to race at Daytona , etc . Go - kart dudes changed there name to Faskart , everyone's happy now .

There oughta be a law against having too many lawyers and lawsuits. One thing is for sure. Big money gets their way and the little guy doesn't stand much of a chance.

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

Harley came out with the FLSTN in`94,I believe. The "N" stood for Nostalgia. The model was called the Softail Nostalia.Well, their lawyers musta been golfing too much or something.Because a little old company called Nostalgia Cycle caught wind and made the giant corporation stop using the name.YEAH for the LITTLE GUY!!!!

They should have just made it easy and changed the name to "Chebby Duty".

Then Jenny Craig would get after them. That might sound too much like a Fat Farm or something.

Re: Chevy Duty is changing names

Well GM has to pay for their move into Europe selling rebadged POS Daewoo's with chevy badges stuck on em. The one good thing I read yesterday is that GM will be officially selling a RHD H3 Hummer in the UK.
