Re: What's the next option to collect?
Best part about these trucks is their "utilitarian" nature. The less stuff on the truck the better if you ask me.

1) Was dril rail moulding available for 70? I thought only 71 for some reason. Would it fit anyway? 2) What's a vent shade 3) Already have he cargo light, glove box, lighted cig lighter, stainless trim - but the lighter is only useful when removed, right? It doesn't show up lighted while still in the dash? 4) Headlight warning buzzer a stock option? Because I actually have a setup from a '69 Pontiac that is likely very similar.

C10 Shortbed <> C2500 Custom Camper <> K30 Forest Truck They're all different. And mine was ORDERED and BUILT this way - heavily optioned as a family vacation vehicle by the original owner for 40 years. So I'm just extending the trend in a reversible manner. So, the more stuff on the truck the better if you ask me. Must depend on who you ask then. But since there are many like it, but this one is mine, more is better.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
I guess I should be clear I'm only collecting factory, year-correct options with few exceptions. So while I'd love power windows and locks (and might add a keyfob for locks) I only want to add period-correct stuff.
I'm still tempted on the cruise control but haven't found a picture of a clean 1970 install yet. If I hide parts, it's not stock, but if you put them in the correct place, cruise can get pretty messy.

I guess that rules out a bed mounted M2 machine gun.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
Here's a good picture of all the parts needed for a factory correct 69-70 cruise set-up. There's some pics of factory units still in the truck if you do a search.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
No, the M2 is such as a classic that it's period correct for all times. But I don't want to scratch up my bed wood.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, A Tach, Vac gauge cluster from a 67 with the choke on the upper right side!
I have to get one of those. Utilitarian, yes, ultimately! |

Re: What's the next option to collect?
I believe Vac was not an option for light duty trucks - that was a C40 and up thing I think - so, not sure if Dave would be be on board with that as he goes down the factory option list... But I would be! And, yes, I have one in my truck! It is nice to fill out that oddball extra hole in the dash. Vac or later model clock fits as well - not an exact match font-wise though, but a nice add-on.

Out of everything here that 8trac is on my list. I didn't see period CB. Heard one was offered thru dealers but never have seen one factory so probably not on your radar.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
No fair, 70cst keep posting option porn! I had no idea GM white-labelled a CB radio, though it's in the truck accessory catalog index, so we shall see when that arrives if its the same unhit.
I had to remove a CB bracket and antenna hole and passthrough to the bed; this truck had a CB for most of its life, so it would be fitting to add one back. If I could find one as nice as the 70cst picture, I'd do it! Problem is since the truck is "new" I need any options like that to be "new" or at least cosmetically restorable. Nice stuff, Mr. 70.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
I have seen few of the GM CB. Even fewer in good condition.
That is a thing of beauty. Just one of those things that has nostalgic value for me because dad had one but I agree - accessory porn. Dig it.

Re: What's the next option to collect?
That's actually what I'm looking for! It looks like the same compressor so I should be able to T it off I imagine, but I need the setup with the tank and horns.
It seems like Hadley made them for everyone, but I'd like to find a set marked as GM or that looks more like the one in the back of the owner's manual. If anyone has a lead, please let me know!

Re: What's the next option to collect?
So I grabbed these off eBay - they're GMC, but not exactly like the ones shown in the book.
I'm wondering where the solenoid is, and if there's a check valve in there somewhere... otherwise the pressure would be tied to whatever I've got the shocks set at! Anyone know what the second picture is?

Re: What's the next option to collect?
It might not be in good enough shape for what you're looking for and I'm not quite sure of the vintage but I noticed this GM CB on ebay and thought I'd share the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-CB-R...wAAOSwwE5WXiF7
