Re: Good things come to those that wait.
Great score.
And what makes it even better, you know the history of the truck. Congrats to you.

Reminds me of my GMC, tried to buy it for 20 years from the original owner. He let it go when he was 97 years old.....

Re: Good things come to those that wait.
Ron, any chance you happen to get some close up high resolution pics I'd love to get a couple. This would make a great frame pic for the wall. Looks so cool sitin in the weeds. How long has it been in the same spot? Thanks

Re: Good things come to those that wait.
I am going to take some close up pics as soon as I can get in to where it's at. I use a Kodak Easy Share DX7440 camera and use the automatic setting because it works better for me that way. It has been sitting there in that spot since 1991.

Re: Good things come to those that wait.
Well got a call from neighbor that he thought we could get the truck out today. Was supposed to start raining this afternoon (it did) so now or no telling when. So dropped what I was doing and hooked trailer to my old D-17 AC and down the road a 1/2 mile to rescue truck. The truck had just had a new set of tires before it was parked in 1991. All 4 were still up about half way so hooked up the winch and pulled it on the trailer. I forgot my camera so these pics were shot in the outdoor parts department.
Time sure has not been good to the old girl as the pics tell. It is still on the trailer so haven't had a chance to check it out but can see that not much of the sheet metal can be saved.

Re: Good things come to those that wait.
I was a little off in remembering the miles I said 71xxx and it's 73xxx but it was 6 years ago when I seen it. This is weird it had deluxe trim but only 1 visor on driver side. nothing on passenger side. I've got a lot going on so will be after Maggie valley before I dig into the old girl. Will update when I get it on the ground.

I put it right in front of the other rust bucket. Hope things are going well for you. I'm doing pretty good all in all. Will see you in July.

Re: Good things come to those that wait.
There appear to be a few decent rust spots, but it also looks like there is a lot of solid metal there.
