That truck is owned by the member "Daddymack" and has a build thread here. I saw it on the show and remembered following its progress!

Re: Counting Cars... no love for the bagged 63 GMC

Wow, I followed "Daddymack's" build as well. Sad to see the truck like that! I wonder what happened as well.

Crazy that they act like they don't know the truck, because check out post # 26:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=393441&page=2

Gotta say though, the rebuild looked pretty sweet. Thought they would show it again before the show ended. I wanted to hear it run!

Didnt see that post before but I do find it funny that Danny was making fun of the bondo work on the smiley face in the door.... and now they are supposedly the ones that did it according to that post.

I know, right?

I didn't realize that's who did the work till I went back to that thread to make sure it was the member's truck that I thought it was. Then I was surprised after watching the episode.

Re: Counting Cars... no love for the bagged 63 GMC

Actually I might have just figured it out. In the episode with Chumlee's '63 Lincoln, they mention a shady body shop manager from a couple years ago. That's about the time "Daddymack's" truck was painted. Maybe that explains the body work problems.

All show and no content.

Rather watch Chip Foose and Overhaulin, although that show really doesn't show you much either.

Re: Counting Cars... no love for the bagged 63 GMC

I have seen that truck at a few local spots. If you look the "burn" spots look like runny black paint. Helps with 62" HD tv. It's all BS. Some neighborhoods where they "find " these cars would not house these cars enless stolen. $50000 car parked outside? I don't leave mine in the drive more than an hour!

I wondered about this before. Seems odd that they find these mint cars in those areas. I do like watching it, it's better than some of the hack stuff on TV.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but another message board that
daddymack is on (boating) is saying he still owns the truck and is a
judge, owns a strap company and just bought a tow yard....if this is
true than it goes to show how set up these shows really are!

If "Daddymack" is Steve (Kevin from the show's brother), who owns the tow yard & is a judge and attorney in the area, then it could be true. They mention that in the episode. However Steve mentions that his guys found it abandoned & towed it in, & nobody came to claim it. So we'd just need to know if Steve is "Daddymack." Even if that's the case, they should still know the truck since they did the paint/body work the first time around.

That's the truck in question that we're referring to in the above posts.

"Daddymack" is indeed Steve (Kevin's brother). I just happened to remember there was a picture of "Daddymack" in the original build thread, so I went digging to see if it was still visible. Check out post # 114:

Same guy that appears on the show! So, they tried a little trickery on us!!! Who they tryin' to fool?

Re: Counting Cars... no love for the bagged 63 GMC

So the story should have went:

Hey Kevin. We are going to look at your brother's 1962 C-10 that we have already painted once and messed it up. Hey look at this shotty bondo work in the door, which one of your guys did that?

They probably got wind we were razzing them for no love for the C-10 and was like let us make up a story to get us truck huggers off their back lol. Little did they know we have the truck history right here lol

For real! They totally fabricated that story on the epidsode. And I agree with "LVPhotos" that it doesn't look like the truck burned when you see that black stuff, whatever it may be. About the only thing they got right was that the motor/tranny was worn out, because "Daddymack" mentions that during some of his last posts about the truck. His son drove it to school for a while, & he was supposed to get it back once his son started college. Then he had big plans for an engine/tranny swap. Maybe once word of the new show got around, "Daddymack" (aka Steve) decided to get in on the action with a complete rebuild.

I started to mention that as well. No doubt it's Counts Kustoms shop.

Re: Counting Cars... no love for the bagged 63 GMC

I was wondering how they planned to do all they said they were going to do for $15k when they would typically say something like $25k+ for all that work... Think about it, body work, new paint, new "hot" engine, new interior, etc etc all for $15k? Doubt it!

I did not go last year to the Water St show..."Super Run" so this is a couple years old but it sure doesn't look abandoned to me. I actually liked the roll pan and bumper combo hence the pictures. I was shopping for tire sizes so this was tucked in with those pictures.

Post #16 on is all Counts shop. Note scalloped fender, the personal shop in #17 of the cab with the 32 and van with the neon lights is the walk in area. Bottom picture #30 is frame and personal cars Purple Lambo. The gate in #106, truck fender again in #112. You can guess the rest.
