wow looks like alot of work to just keep sanding then painting and sanding again. I would be a little worried about all the surface rust especially on the cab it looks like the rust is getting to it. Id prime it and run it like that until ya want the real deal paint... JMO

if you want it primed for awhile prime it and have your paint supplier tint the primer to the color you want

oh and the last pics are just primer, im going to paint a layer of black with some red oxide here and there, sand it down to how i want it, then paint the whole thing flat midnight blue, and sand it down again... i sanded the roof down pretty good and painted it with some rust reformer before i primed it
