Re: What are you wanting to get done on your truck this coming weekend

Sweet. We got some great projects coming up this weekend. I knew I was not the only guy who daydreamed about work I was wanting to get accomplished every weekend. I don't have any pictures but today I was able to pull the front bumper, push guard, front clip, and cab off Homer. Just a chassis sitting there. Tomorrow I am hoping to lop off a total of 60 inches of frame distance as well as about 4 inches of frame kick up. Going to be a challenge getting it to line up. Hopefully by this time tomorrow Homer's frame will be a short bed, step side, 1 ton dually.

Upper and lower ball joints, in the parking lot. Not looking forward to it. May change out these brake hoses if I feel confident enough that I won't break a line.

This is my plan also. My small shop has been neglected lately since its been cold. I need to make some room in my small shop so I can get started on my rockers and cab corners soon. Just went to TN and got some rust free doors and inner fenders 2 weekends ago. All i need now is a rust free passenger side 67 fender and a radiator support and I'll have all my rust free oem sheetmetal.

Ha! So what you're saying is that I logged in to look up info on my heater blower to figure out why it only works on speed 3 and it's gonna be up to 40 tomorrow so I thought I'd get into it, and meanwhile, in Texas, you couldn't care less if your heater worked or not?

Well, not today....lol But we have had some cold days this winter. And I am assure that we will pay for it come this next summer when it's 108 degrees in the shade & no rain for 60 days or more. There always seems to be a trade off no matter where you live.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Now this right here is what I was hoping to hear. Some positive results.

As for me, yesterday I got the cab and dog house/front clip off. Today, my results were not quite as good. I got all of the stuff out of the way and got the required 60 inches cut out but that is about as far as I got. Still got a lot of finish grinding/finessing to do before I even think about welding it back together. Hopefully by noon tomorrow it will be welded up and have a coat of paint or two on it. Then my plan is to finish welding the cab graft and maybe even spread a little bondo on the cut. You notice I say hopefully, I am sooooo tired. Even talking about working on it tomorrow makes me more tired. OLD.

Thanks. I have to get stuff done when I'm off. I start nightshift tomorrow so I had worked on getting the stuff done on my last full day off. Tomorrow I clean it up along with the garage then go to work.

Re: What are you wanting to get done on your truck this coming weekend

I only got one side done. I removde the driver side manifold, and extracted the busted bolt.then I scrub the manifold with soap and water, and ran it through the sand blasting cabinet.

While I was at the sand blasting cabinet, I thought it would be a good idea to blast the alternator brackets also. Then I rubbed the manifold down with anti seize, and carefully reinstalled it.

I also painted the alt. brackets.

I have heat cycle the engine several times now, and the anti-seize has stopped smoking.
I will save the other manifold for a different weekend.
