Re: Will this Work, or am I crazy!!!!
SOMETIMES THINGS ARE NOT AS THEY SEEM!!!!!
my motor mount was not broken!!!!! instead, when I went to pull the motor mount off, I noticed that the motor stand had one bolt holding it on (instead of 3). long story short, the motor stand was flexing and making me hear that charicteristic motor mount alarm, the fan hitting the shroud. I got the poly motor mounts in today too, they're built like a tank!!! I might keep them until I need them instead of sending them back.

Re: Will this Work, or am I crazy!!!!
well when I put in the 383, I took the motor stands off to paint them, I might not have gotten everything tight enough...........this time I put red loctite and lockwashers!!!!!

Re: Will this Work, or am I crazy!!!!
Sounds like a winner.
That's one downside to fresh paint on something like that. Even if you think you have something bolted down tight, the paint will act as a lubricant. Shouldn't be a problem with the locktite and washers though. |
