Re: POWER STEERING , how long?

That's it . I could have finished in one afternoon if it wasnt for the pitman arm issue. As mentioned before you start this make sure you have everything you need .
As far as parts go you will need the addaptor (make sure you get the right one for your year there is one for 60-62, and one for 63-66), the power steering gear with pitman arm, power steerinng pump, power stering hoses , both pressure and return, ( make sure they are from the same year I went with 1972), you will also need to get a belt, hose clamps, power steering fluid, I also need to get a grade 8 1/4 bolt and nut, and a 7/16 grade 8 nut and a fine thred 7/16 bolt, grease cotter pins spray paint, and in my case a new pitman arm
As far as tools , a picle fork basic hand tools, a hack saw to cut the steering shaft and bumper bracket or cut off wheel, flare nut wrences, tin snips to trim the inner fender well I also needed a 1 .5/16 " socket. and pitman arm puller.
It steers great do it youl be happy you did

Re: POWER STEERING , how long?

Part numbers for the hoses? Or are they just 1972 truck power steering hoses?

Re: POWER STEERING , how long?

I believe it's from a 1972 truck, it was there when I bought the truck, mid-project I guess you'd say.
