Re: My Barn Find

Just a suggestion on these 70s era squares - install a pair of hood stiffeners as soon as you can. Even if the hood is not rusted, the hood hinges probably are rusty or creaky and you can easily crunch the hood when you close it. A weak design on the 70s, IMHO. My 73 was rusty and the hood folded soon after purchase, my 76 was rust free, but the hood still flexed a lot and would have folded if I kept it long enough, even with excess hinge lubrication.

Re: My Barn Find

Yeah I discovered the weak hood issue the day after I dragged home that green GMC...the left side buckled.
Thankfully I caught it before anything got too creased and I should be able to bend it back and stiffen it.
Was a total sick moment there when it happened

Re: My Barn Find

Did you find any rodent nest inside? If so make sure you inspect the wiring. Great find, that's how I got my 83 Scottsdale, it had been sitting for about 5 years, has 78K and I picked it up for 200.00. Mine even came with a tool box, those alone are about 400.00
