Re: Am I crazy or is this guy?

Of the 3 67-72's I have here I've only spent $1200 combined. Two are complete runable trucks with issues (tranny in one and brakes on the other), the other is the 70 GMC burb, bought for a parts truck. I'd keep looking, I could have bought a decent looking 71 daily driver about 6 months ago for $1500. They're out there, just a matter of finding them. Best luck I've had was just finding one sitting and asking about it. Good luck in you search.

I won't even go look at something if I don't have enough cash on me to either buy it or give a fair deposit to hold it until I can go get the cash out of the bank to pay for it. I expect the same from anyone who wants to buy something from me.

I will say that 3k is way too high for a truck that you can't get in and drive the two hours home and expect to get there with no issues. Otherwise it depends on the stash of pieces you have at home as to what it is worth. If you have an engine, trans and radiator that truck won't take a lot to be able to drive it to town and back and it's probably in better shape than my 71 GMC 3/4 ton except for the broken glass.

As others have said...If you don't insult or look down at a seller it will likely go a long ways in negotiating a better price. You may not come to terms but at least you w0n't burn bridges.

Well I have one that runs and drives LB though and I can't get a nibble at 2,000.00 so i would have to say pass for more than a grand.
