Center cap hassle. I hate ugly hardware. Had to drill and tap my 15x7 fronts from 1/4 20 to 5/16 18. Very Happy with results, I really like this Look! Clean and Simple!

Front wheels painted, tires mounted. I always trim the “nipples” of the sidewalls on new tires.

New ignition. It always amazes me how good these old engines run with a pertronix ignitor and coil upgrade!

A couple buddies gathered for a Memorial Day Hotrod Breakfast.

Looks like a 1980 camaro 305/auto engine
Built July 15 in Tonowanda
Should do fine as that truck would have had a 307 possibly anyway. Tough engines but low hp. compared to an earlier engine.

That steering wheel looks like it was born with the truck.

When you put the 5 inch rear drop springs in did you have to do anything in terms of panhard bar, etc?

Might be, BUT the wide pad that those stampings are on, was generally not seen past 1976. The blocks with the wide pad were the heavier cast blocks. Narrow pad denotes thinner cast blocks, lighter weight AND lighter duty.

Would be interesting what the rest of the markings on block look like. (Behind driver side head)

Agreed but CMJ was used as a 1974 350 police eng and
a 305. I have a pretty extensive list of suffix codes and I am like you, I would like a block casting number to narrow this down.
If I am wrong, it certainly won't be the 1st time. Or th last for that matter.
I hope it turns out to be the 350.

May 2022.
Had the windshield replaced added a stock radio it’s powered but no speaker. I Also gave the truck a good bath.

I did ad the early classics pan had bar. Rear end is now centered lady to right in truck. Also I did trim the bracket for additional clearance.

When I bought this truck I wanted to get it road worthy and enjoy it! Even if it’s a parts runner. The first event I took it to was 2nd Saturday at Vintage parts of Arizona June 2022. It was Great to be back participating at events. A buddy took the pick of us knuckleheads gathered around the 68!
