I'm in on this one, nice truck for the price. We get rust buckets out here for that price, but hey atleast they are still around. IFS looks great, what brand? 305 def nothing wrong with that either.

Thanks everyone. This is the First time for me doing all this on my own so taking my time. The IFS was from Southern Rods and Parts out of South Carolina. Great price. Will keep pics coming as I make more progress.

Next steps after the front is installing the explorer rear end that I picked up for FREE. Pays to have friends who know people. I always love FREE stuff.

Looks pretty good. I just finished installing my fatman IFS. Its a project but aren't the results worth it?
 I also got a free explorer rear. How are you planning to install yours? I picked up the TCI rear leaf kit and Have to modify it slightly since the explorer rear has larger axle tubes. |

Well this might be the slowest build ever, but since it is my first time I just keep chipping away at it. Here is the front end almost completely installed. Have to do springs, brakes, and few minor things. Then on to the rear next.

hey looks good, no mind the time. I have a 52' that I started some body parts on and got some things lined up for it but won't post it yet cause its such a slow process. My 49' I'm doing, I post every week. You'll get there, on the up and up warm weather is practically here.

You are way further ahead than I am and I started gathering parts about 6 months before you bought your truck. In fact just yesterday I picked up a 9" rear axle for mine on the cheep.

I have been checking out your build. Some killer work on that dash. I am basically learning as I go. Hope to have just a nice cruiser and not a show truck.

Well making baby steps. Slow build but doing it when I can. Just finished taking out the 3/4 rear end and installed a new TCI kit and explorer rear end. I like the ride height. Next I am hoping to test fit motor and trans before removing the body. Good winter project.

Bought the front end from southern rods and parts out of South Carolina. Good price and kit fit great. Check out their web site if you have not. Pretty good prices on a lot of things.

cool, yeah I been on their site bf. I did just see a decent deal on two ujoints and D shaft for steering. Might hit them up. can't wait to see some more progress.

Making some progress. Decided to open up all my new bed parts and mock it up. Starting to take shape. After moving rear back a few inches, I still think I am going to move it back about 2 more inches to center the rear wheel in the wheel well. Going slow but having fun.
