Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

Hey guys,
I'm also putting an LT1 with a 700r4 in my blazer. I have a pcm serv. no. 16188051. I was wondering what MSD dizzy, rotor, and cap setup should I get. Thanks!

Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

I can do the OBDI LT1 tuning as well as the newer LS stuff.
The 4L60e is a bit fragile if you beat on it but as for it shifting too fast that is not true.

I have worked on both platforms and the cost of the 5.3/6.0s are so cheap now it's hard not to go that route plus you do not have to deal with the Opti. BUT the LT1 is a great motor especially if you do not have opti issues.

I had the quickest LT1 bolt on car in the 'nation' according to the internet till last year, the record stood for 2 yrs, 11.80@113+ with a 1.5x 60'.
I now have an LS1 swap in same car and has run a 7.3 in the 1/8th and 11.59 in the 1/4.

Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

I have a LT1 converted to LT4 out of a 92 vette, my brother had it installed into his 85 project, was running but never on the road because of an issue with the body shop. He passed and I got the truck and in the process of installing it into my 69. I drove the vette once and the top end power of the motor before the LT4 conversion was VERY IMPRESSIVE. It is still mated to the 700R. Hope to have it back running soon. I had it is the reason for the change, but they all are costly to install. With the wiring, fuel systems and other things. The pic is an older pic, things have changed, but nothing about the engine itself.

Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

The LT4 HOT cam is a nice cam!! not too big but enough to get a 3400 Z28 to an 11.96, at it really likes the nitrous. same day went 11.17 with issues on 100shot.

Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

I am pretty sure mine are truck headers. They were installed at the dealership with part number 69646.

Re: 94 lt1 upgrade

I just had a 94 caprice cop car with the baby lt1, the l99. since the car only cost me 600 bucks and when it got rearended the insurance settled way more, and my 70 stepside was given to me, i thought why not swap motors. sure the 4.3 isnt as fast but i always got the 88 stang gt with a supercharger or the 65 Tiger to go fast. no i wanted a super reliable highway truch that was classic. got the 4L60E as well. Planning on hookin a turbo up to it sometime soon. SUPER quiet too, no engine noise at all.
