You'll be happy with new springs. It'll make a huge improvement, I think. So which route did you go? Did you mean that AAA's price was per axle?

I went the Big O route...and it was exactly the same cost. In fact they get the spings from the same place at AAA.

I only went with Bog O because they are 10 blocks away. AAA is all the way across town. I also like this particular Bog O...I have had great success with them for many things.

were your bushings completely shot, or just your springs?

It was all pretty shot. The springs were really de-arched beyond any support. The front end feels completely different now. There was not much spring left in the springs.

Shocks are next...I am sure the ones I have are years old and surely worn out.

check your frame for straighten my had some rivets pop right in the middle of the frame which makes the left side lower than the right

OK...I have the new leafs on the front...and they were definitely needed.

I still notice a bit of lean toward the driver side...so I get underneath and start measuring.

First off my 31 inch tires are really 29.5 inches. They still have about 1/2 inch tread on them.

My axles are even from the ground on each side.

The passenger side measured from two points on each side...each right before the frame turns upward.

The passenger side is higher about an inch in the rear and 3/4 on the front.

So I measure the shocks...the shocks on the passenger side are about an inch longer than the driver side.

I am going to replace the shocks.

Will this bring things back into proper alignment?

Do shocks wear or get worn or get stuck like this.

I do know that 90% of the time the truck was driver there was a 200 pound man (PO) on one side...It was his baby and he drover it for 34 years...everyone else in the family had their own car...in fact the daughters said that he was the only to ever drive the truck and he would not let anyone else drive it.

Shocks just dampen the bounce, Unless they had aftermarket coils on them it should not effect ride height.

Yes...I agree...but could a shock get stuck...air shocks in the rear, causing it to ride a bit higher...I guess anything is possible.

when i replaced the shocks on my truck, i did notice a slight change in ride height. Not alot, but it was noticable.

Either way, it sounds like new shocks wouldn't hurt
