I used window wrap on my dd available at local lumber yards 30.00 per roll. I have used the same roll under 2 floormats and still have a little left.

^^^That is what we have always used at the shop and no one has ever came back and said that the sound levels were to high or it was to hot inside the vehicle.

I did my whole interior and inside my doors and door panels with butyl window sealer from Home Depot! 50 ft roll for $17. Used two rolls. It's half the thickness of Dynamat but like 1/10th the cost. I figured I would just double it up if I needed to. but after putting just one layer on I'm happy.

Has anyone used Lizard Skin Coatings? I had planed to use this not only for sound deadening but to seal up all the seams in the floor.... It can be sanded and painted over too.

I used Lizard Skin all over interior of cab, then Second Skin Damplifier Pro over the Lizard Skin on floor, I'm very pleased with the performance, both as a heat blocker & sound deadener.

Curious cause i'm not a body man, if i decide to use the stuff and down the road a rust problem pops up because it was hidden inside a rocker or cab support, how hard it it to remove the stuff you use? can it be media blasted off? Thanks,

I'm curious as to what some of you are doing with the exposed areas of the sound deadener? Like up front on the firewall where the carpet ends. Is the stuff paintable or do you make sure you have something to cover it all up?

I have experience with just about every deadener out there. My advice is stay away from anything tar based. The only two that in my opinion are even worth buying is FatMat's MegaMat or Second Skin Damplifier. They're both Butyl and work 10x better than anything else out there. The tar based stuff easily peels off and in some cases the smell of the tar lingers in the car forever. If you're going to deaden, do it right. FatMat MegaMat is the cheaper of the two (100 sq. ft. for $240) and works very well. I have about 130 sq. ft. in my cab along with a layer of Second Skin's Luxury Liner Pro. It's about as quiet as a new luxury car.

Butyl based is the only way to go.

Edit- as for the spray stuff I have never used any but really want to. Everyone I know that has used it says it's excellent stuff.

That would require a two step process. The sound deadener does just what it says, reduces sound. For some insulation you would want to go with some second heat wave or a similar product.

I would still like to know if any of the products listed are easy to remove if you end up having a hidden rust issue rear its ugly head? by sander or maybe heat gun?

You can remove it but it will not be re-usable. You can peel it off while applying heat.

B-Quiet is tar based and I would not recommend it.

I did a ton of research on this before I lined the burb. I ended up going with raammat. It got great reviews everywhere I looked. I spoke to the owner of the company and he explained everything about it. I used that for the surface noise and vibration. Next I used the neoprene material for the reflective sound vibration ( it absorbs the soundwaves that are airborn) lastly I used the homedepot insulation roll for heat insulation. Then carpet over the top. I must say it quited down the burb substantially. I used it on the floor, ceiling, and sides, including the doors and cargo area. With a big block and pretty loud mufflers it did a great job quieting it down. Now the doors shut with a new car thud, and not a hollow sounding rattle. Hope this helps.

I've had good luck with the Fat Mat product in the past. It worked as well as dynamat at a fraction of the price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

As far as heat shielding, I haven't noticed any difference from the stock carpet in my DD.
