I'd be worried about spills or condensation dripping right there on the radio and A/C controls .

I paid 5 bucks for a stout 1/4 thick two cup holder. Used two of those black super strong paper clips and just clipped it to my ashtray face...no holes drilled and no serious deforming of the original tray. Works fine , even for two big drinks. Only drawback is it will pull the ashtray all the way out when a full load of cups is placed. Of course the 60 -70 buck holders prolly look better.....
