Re: what seats are you guy's running?

'98 Suburban second-row seat. Full-flip bottoms (extra storage) and fold down arm rest that still hides the tank (if you have one) with arm rest down.

Also using 88-98 "Work Truck" adjustable height shoulder-belts

Re: what seats are you guy's running?

I have got a seat out of a Kodiak/Topkick crewcab. Its the back seat and its brand new. I got it off Ebay. The user name is Seanb69fsu. It was $100 buy it now and $90 shipping. You have to adapt your seat tracks. He still has a bunch of them for sale in Grey and Tan. I looked at a seat cover for mine that was $300 and rebuilding the cushion and springs I would have had $500 in a seat so I got the Kodiak seat.

Chevydog, I like the console. What are the dimensions of it and what all did you use to build it?

Re: what seats are you guy's running?

I recently found out my seat is from a 90' F#%D truck It flips forward so I always assumed it was from a 67'. It has a thin backrest and fits great. These are a dime a dozen in junkyards

Re: what seats are you guy's running?

I just used some cardboard to make a template, and mock it up. Then I used some tan vinyl to match my seats with some 1/2" pad underneath, and glued and stapled it on. I can get some dimensions later, but they will be a guesstimate because of the pad and vinyl on there. I used 3/4" mdf for frame.

[IMG][/IMG]
these are out of a 92 de'ville... need to be re upholsterd but they are very comfortable.
fit right in with a few minor adjustments to position and caddy brackets almost sat in truck perfect minus drilling (shown) then i just put in very large square washers to hold them down without hurting sheet metal. took about 4 hours.

dont mind the corona box i was bored.

Re: what seats are you guy's running?

just a short thread jack here...Longhorn Man, I see you have some vunyl spray paint in your cup holder, How good does that work? I've got some sunvisors and arm rests that need a little sprucing up.

OK Back to the seats... I'm going with racing style seats, they recline and they are fairly thin in the back so I can fit my gut between the seat and the steering wheel?????

here is a pic of the seats...obviously not IN the truck yet

Re: what seats are you guy's running?

Already gone- to answer your question, yes i did have these seats in with my factory gas tank and had plenty of leg room. but im only 5'9 so you might be a different story. also i dont think you could gain that much more room by taking the tank out, my seats are all the way back and the pitch of the back of the seat is just right so if i wanted to move them back the back of the seat would be tilted in more, so that may be uncomfortable for you.
