Re: New member, new COE (new to me)

Thanks, all!

Dually: PLENTY of parking for your truck and others.

I also have a rough 1946 Chevy flatbed that I might use for the music 'stage'.

And meter: I'm already designing a label for an IPA called "Hop Haul" with my COE carrying a giant hop cone.

Yes, Dually.

My place is literally about 8 blocks off of the interstate.

Re: New member, new COE (new to me)

Great idea with the COE!! Look forward to seeing the progress with both the truck and the brewhouse. We're 4 or 5 hours from St. Louis - we'll come visit you once you're open.

There was a model kit called Beer Wagon - it was based on an old Mack truck, but you may get some cool ideas like the keg fuel tanks and the stein shift handle.

Re: New member, new COE (new to me)

Thanks, jtj.

I find this illustration inspirational too... (even though it's a Ford)

http://s1149.photobucket.com/albums/...lustration.jpg

I'm going to paint my cab silver and have my wheels powdercoated red, so this is in the same ball park. I have the oak beer barrels for the back too.

Here is a recent pic.

Unfortunately not a lot of exciting news to report.

The brake lines are all new. The drums are turned, sandblasted, and painted.
The wheel cylinders are new, the brake pads are re-lined. It stops.
None of which can be seen in the picture, but was important to get addressed as a first step.

The west coast mirrors are off. The spotlight is removed. The flatbed has since been removed.

I have a big pile of new parts.

But... between 'real' work and hours of additional work every day working towards getting the brewery moving forward, the truck gets worked on as I can.

There will be plenty of much more interesting pictures as the project matures.

Re: New member, new COE (new to me)

My father in law used to do some custom cutting up until about 20 yrs ago. He had one of the COE trucks with a wheat bed on it. I didn't think it was that cool at the time. I'd about give my left n#t for one these days. I picked up my AD 51 3100 about 15 years ago and always thought it would be cool to have a matching car hauler. Like you said, "all it takes is money". I probably could have got it for next to nothing in running and driving condition.

Re: New member, new COE (new to me)

I hope to some day cruise in your pace for a beer (or two). I'm only 6-7 miles off I-70,we're practically neighbors!

Can I suggest a couple names for beers? First of all,how about for a real refined tasting beer: Advance Design? Then, maybe for a more stout beer:Snub Nose. We used to call the Advance Designs "Bull Noses" back in the '70s. "Stovebolt" would be a another name. I'm sure you have your own ideas and maybe don't want to hang on the truck theme so much. But,hey,I'm a truck nut. Wuddaya expect?

Hmmm...Old GM trucks,old building,beer. Sounds like excellent ingredients for a local mini-meet:

Uhhh...I think it was poor lighting or low batteries. Yeah, that's why they're so blurry
