Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Wow at the rate your going the truck will be on the road before the new year, to bad for all this snow. Do you plan on taking it to any shows around town?

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Snow Snow and more of it. The truck is being built as a Driver. I am sure it will be seen around town.
Last night I Bled the brakes, mounted a torque converter cover, and installed a thermostat and housing. Shopped for Air line fittings got them installed today. |

Great build, I've waited a while to see one of those aftermarket frames get used.

I want to finish the frame then start on the body. I am thinking I may need to get the body in sooner as I am trying to decide on the air tank placement. I might go outside the frame. I placed my Gas tank and air tank inside the frame behind the axle, they fit. BUT my filler will not be centered in the box. My dillema. Any ideas as to how I should install the tanks? this is all new to me |

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
you could always put the air tank in the cab behind the seat where the old gas tank would have been, it would be safer then the gas tank sitting behind you

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Not much done this week. I installed the emergency brake cables. Have them run to the brake pedal area. Also conected the air lines to the bags from.the stainless lines. Set the fuel injection body onto the manifold and cut the kick down cable to length, mounted the return springs. Installed the wire holders and made up the spark plug wires.

I brought the truck home today now comes the work. I will be stripping the truck and getting it soda blasted. Never know what hides under the paint.
Installed a Marsh serpentine system on the block. Drive shaft picked up, ready to polish and install. |

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
What size is the wheel and tire you have on the side mount in the last picture? I am having a hard time finding a tire size that doesn't look too big. I like yours.

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
I have the box removed. Built a dolly to move the cab around, did a preliminary on the panel repair needed.
Cab corners were repaired once before, but was a quick fix. I will cut out and replace. Drivers side front cab corner has some metal missing, Dam rust. Rear fenders were welded to the running boards as they also had some rust and was a quick repair. |
