Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
Glass packs, every body has flow masters these days, it's just as boring as the "system and rimz" crowd of late model trucks.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
Flowmasters here, and I really like them. I have run the Gpacks, and the "turbo" style muffs for years before, and I am really happy with the Flowmasters. To each their own I guess...

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
I have a set of hooker header mufflers on the project I'm building. I think they sound awesome!!! They have a great rumble at idle, and if you snap the throttle they make a really loud cracking sound! I love it!! can't wait to get it finished and go rip up the streets!!:

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
I had Flowmaster 40's on my 402 but I had to much inner cab noise for my taste. I'm seriously looking at SPINTECH. Youtube has a lot of clips with thse mufflers.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
I've ran both glass packs and Flowmaster 40's with headers on my '71 Cheyenne and for all around power and sound, i'll stick with the Flowmasters. I run one on my jeep, my '05 GMC Canyon, and as soon as i put a header on it, my '56 Chevy sedan.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
sounds is a personal taste.. so it's kinda hard to ask what one is better, IMO both sounds like crap...
i'd vote for spin techs... had 50 series flows on my car.. changed over to the spintechs.. 100% better imo, just a way gnarlier sounding system. NOT MY CAR, but very close to the motor that's going into my truck, and one of the best on youtube.

Info and Sound Clip
http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...ntechindex.asp Well tomorrow I am going to order the SpinTech Sportsman Street muffler. 2.5" version. I like the sound of these plus I wanted to try something other than flowmasters.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
If your getting flowmaster 40 series. Just buy Thrush Welded, with the flowmaster your just paying for the name. Thrush has made thier muffler EXACTLY like the 40series. With my discount at the local auto store, it comes to about $20() a pop . I prefer the deep tone of the 40 series more than the "BLAT" of cherry bombs. Make sure you do True duel exhaust though

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
After lookin' at some of the kits and checkin' out some shop qoutes I bought a pair of glasspacks at a swap meet, was gave a set of stainless tips, got 45's bent and built my own. Less than $75. No way I'm gonna pay 50 and up for mufflers and 200 up for the rest and labor. Or on the big bucks for a kit. Call me cheap but no exhaust is worth over a couple of hundred.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
As mentioned...I had 40's and they were to loud as far as cab noise. Maybe of I was about 30 years younger they would be ok but I am past that stage and I desire a little softer sound. Spin Techs seem to have a nice mellow sound w/o causing cab noise issues.

Re: Cherry Bomb vs Flowmaster series 40
Not sayin' don't buy new,but 300 hundred and up is extreme IMHO. I've got stainless on mine just changed mufflers and the tips were take offs. The guy just had the expensive stuff!! His junk is my gold!! LOL!!
