Mr. Reaper,
Here you go....my '72 while on a little trip to Texas.
Good luck on the '59!
I am sure you know by now that many old parts can be had off of eBay.

What is that? Sovereign 31'? Good looking old gal.

Yep I check there often. I'm missing my RV fridge and unfortunaly I'm still shopping for a tow rig. Smily in NC had those two working reefers a week ago and I wasn't sure I could get over there anytime soon to get one so I didn't end up bidding on them....I should have though.

Mr. Reaper (I call you that 'cause I have seen "The Meaning of Life" by Python too many times)

Thanks, she has been a good one.
It says International on the side and Sovereign on the manual.
I call it a "non-Excella". LOL
The fridge in her is original to '72 and I am so glad....
ANY fridge with a blasted circuit board is not worth $50 to me.
Those boards in them fail faster than you could believe 'cause they can't handle the current 'cause they have real cheap parts on the boards.
I will stop.....I know it is not "Blast-Dometic" hour...LOL

I use my '84 Silverado to haul her around. It has the "Camper Special" or "Heavy-Half" options on it and does a good job.
The only thing I have is a lack of power and I built a 383 to fix that.
You can't even tell the Airstream is back there (until you hit the gas).
They are the best.
Mine even has the anti-sway bar on the front but I don't think one needs it with these.
Crosswinds don't touch them.
Good luck on your project...........
Keep me posted and I will help you if I can,
Mike

Ohhh man our is a single axle and we had to tow it 40 miles without the sway....Most nerve racking 40 miles ever! We drove it down I75 at 50mph and white knuckled it every Semi that passed. The tandum's help a TON! I already bought a Reese dual cam for our because I knew it was going to be an issue.
I'm burb shopping right now just took my second look at a 454 88 that's owned by a Airstreamer that just isn't able to do it anymore (age). SUPER nice guy. This burb looks new. Pretty well only used it to pull his 31ft Excella. Was garaged the rest of the time. 71k. He's asking a good bit above blue book. But it's nice. Only problems I have with it is a cracked windshield and the left bank has an exhaust leak somewhere. Might be at the collector. Thinking real hard about it. I'll get some pictures up if I end up buying it.

Same guy has a 71 trailering special with a 402 that he has owned since it was 2. Incredible shape. It's a big reason why I'm so interested in his burb. That truck shows me how well it's maintained. The 71 is for sale as well and I gave him the URL here. It may show up her for sale soon. He's asking $5500 for it I think. Its as good as they get as an original. SOmebody is going to end up with a really nice truck. He pulled a 68 overlander with that truck.

Ohhh btw...It was the fish (monty Python )
Getting back to the random photos here is a really bad picture of our 59 aka the toaster.

Yeah I hear you on the tandom axle stuff. I have never towed a single but I bet it would make quite a difference,
I get a very small pull to the left when a big truck passes going fast but I am so used to it that I never notice that a make a small correction for it......just a little jerk on the wheel.
That 454 sounds good indeed. Around here he would be way too high on the '71. Trucks are pretty cheap around here though.

That is not a bad shot of the Toaster! I think it looks good for it's age. Try to find a "squarestream" for that year. They are dust.

And BTW.......Mr. Reaper, You were not there when they ate. One of them didn't have fish. Why did you take her????????????
We think you cheated.............not that we want her/him back or anything!!

Yeah, I know.
It just struck me how much it looked like that possum I had a
run-in with a few nights ago.
The DNA strains must be close.
The possums around here are real tame (like a Ferret). I think you could pet them if you got them early enough
Not that I would want to try mind you.
Ferrets are waay nicer.
