Here are some shots of were I'm lucky enough to be able to work on my truck. The company I work for sells all the equipment shown and this is our training center that was finished about 3 months ago. Not pictured is our classroom were we hold classes for ASE and ICAR certs and classes on Car-O-Liner frame equipment. We are also starting to get alot of interest from the paint companies as well to start training employees and customers to use waterbourne bases which will be here is 2008.

I'll let the pictures say the rest and if anyone wants to know any particulars, please feel free to ask.

Nice Ride, I am going with 86 TPI from a Vette on my 67, 327. I am finding there is a lot more to putting in a TPI than advertized. Cam, heads, Computer, wiring. All adds up to $$$. I realy like the pulley system your using. Who makes that? Keep the progress pics coming.

JRB - Thanks, I really wanted to take the route you are going and go with a late model fuel injected motor, but I had a buddy that built motors and needed his ElCamino painted and my truck allready had a good 4-bolt 350....so alot of horse trading later and I went this route. Maybe after I wear this out, I'll go gen III with a 6 speed!

The pulley system is from Concept One (www.conceptonepulleys.com). Very good quality and good people to deal with.

Got the bed down to the shop and pressure blasted. Fenders and doors back off truck and in final primer. Underside of hood painted with first round of primer on the other side....just need to block and if it looks straight enough put final primer on..........gettin there inch by inch!

I'm curious about your 383. What headers are you running? How are your heads set up?

Cobalt - The headers that are on it now are from a friend and I'm just using them for motor break-in. Not sure what brand they are. I have a set of Doug Thorley Tri-y's that I bought many years ago that were on the truck before I took it apart. They had smog fitting in them, so I ground them off, welded the holes up and finished them good enough to be Ceramic Coated. I like the Thorleys because they are 14 ga with thick flanges...never had a problem with leaking. I also heated them up on the truck and tweaked the collectors up for more ground clearance.

The heads are Performer RPM's with some port cleanup work and Scorpion 1.5 rollers.

Here's mine....they are part number 300Y. Seems to me they were for 73 up and I had to put a small radius in the pass. side frame rail for clearance, but other than that, I've had them since about 93 and they have probably 70K miles on them and are as solid as they were when new.

Put the bed back on to figure out fuel fill and see how well it fits into fuel cell crossmember slot. Been probably 5 years since I've seen it with the bed back on! Everything seems to fit well....thanks to measuring a couple million times!....and thankyou to Mark (FuelCellGuy) again.

almost done with bodywork on bed sides. Bed had a few dings and tonneau cover snap holes as well as upper BS mldg holes (putting only lower mldgs back on) and filled stake holes. The inside of the bed is in pretty good shape and I'm going to finish it off as nice as the exterior. Need to put a new front panel and tailgate on due to the originals being too beat up. Almost ready to pull bed back off and put a heavy coat of polyester primer on the bed sides to block out, then a few good coats of urethane primer and block again before final. Somewhere in there, I need to finish the bottom of the bed as well.

Little more progress over the weekend with the rough install of my fuel fill lid in the bed http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=204448

Got some parts in today including my tailgate and front bed panel. I'm not real happy about the way the tailgate fits and it is lighter construction than the factory piece. The only reason I got it was because the inside of my factory tailgate was beat up pretty bad. The exterior of my factory gate is pretty nice and it fits so much better, so I'm gonna do some metal surgery. Going to cut the inside panel of the new panel off and graft it onto the factory piece. Will take some pix of the fitment.
