Been awhile (progress!)

Haven't posted in awhile. Moved about a year ago and new place doesn't have much of a garage yet, so truck was in strorage. Fortunately my new job is proving to be VERY beneficial. I work for a company that designs body shops and sells all the incredibly cool body shop equipment. We have a fully functional training center with all operational equipment including frame equipment, a double bay prep station (in pictures) and a downdraft paintbooth. Finally got my truck down last week and began working on it again.......feels sooooooooo good.

Here's a little info on my truck.
-original Cheyenne SWB fleetside
-complete nut & bolt frame off
-383 with little huffer (should be 500+/- hp)
-Concept One front drive (l love the look & less $ then most others)
-built 700r4
-fresh 12 bolt factory limited slip
-rear discs (Speedway kit)
-custom fuel tank (thanks, fuelcellguy)
-rear sway bar
-99/00 Corvette (Nassau Blue)
-about a 5/7 drop
-headers in pics are for "break in". have some ceramic coated Thorleys.
-probably gonna put cast center style 17" 5 spokes on it (Americans or Vintage)

Actually may be on the road this summer......maybe Hot August Nights.
Sorry for the rambling....just fricken glad to be working on it again and thought I would share the product of scarred knuckles and a empty bank account!!!!

Is that Global Finishing Solutions spray equipment that you are selling? The truck looks great. What kind of pulley set up is that on your motor?

I sure enjoy this site. It's such a good feeling to get those "pats on the back" for the hard work it takes to personalize our trucks. Feels like you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes and then you post this and get all the good feedback......get's your motor revving again!

Shifty - Those lifts are made by a company out of Salt Lake City. We just got them in and I believe the name is Car-Tar (I think). They use air to operate and have a built in hyd. jack that operates 4 caster wheels that make moving the vehicle around very easy. There are a couple different models and they are around $4k. Can get you more exact info if you want.

Glock35ipsc - The inside is completely gutted at this moment. The tank should hold about 25 gallons. Fuelcellguy did a real nice job on it and built it exactly to my drawings. The color is a 99/2000 Corvette color.

Ratrod67 - I will be selling the "coke bottles" in the future (15x8 & 15x10).

72cstc5 - good eye, yes we sell global equipment. We have a Ultra+1 installed next to the prep station that is waterbourne ready. Srayed some waterbourne a few weeks ago and I was impressed. All the equipment in the shop is first rate. Kaeser screw compressor, Eurovac central vac system, Transair aluminum air lines, IRT rail system (in prep station), Car-O-Liner frame equipment. I can post some pics of the shop if you want. The pulley system is made by Concept One and is very good quality, not to mention good people to deal with.

Is that a hidden hitch that rests behind the license plate or is that a below the bumper hitch that you'll be able to see?

hitch is behind the plate as I used to tow a boat. Probably won't be towing anything, but put it on to add protection to the fuel tank.

Find if i askhow much that tank cost you? Also how many inches below the frame does it hang?

Blue85 - Seems to me it was a little more than $400. Pretty good deal when you consider it was completely built to my specs. The bottom of the tank just about lines up with the bottom of the rear factory bumper. Not sure what that is in inches, but I could measure it you need.

Nice truck, I can't wait to see it done. Have you bolted up your other headers? how is the clearence from the ground and to the fame? I hope to make it to HAN with my blazer too, maybe I'll see you there.

Blue85 - Measured it today and looks like about 3.5 " from bottom of frame to bottom of tank.

Mike Nutt - Thanks. I got the C-notch and some front upper shock relocators from a small company that had a web site for awhile and was one of the first to have tubular upper control arms. I can't remember the name, but it was mentioned a number of times on this site......anyone remember? Quality was good, but they came in raw steel. Don't think they are around any more.
