Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Here is the score. I found a bed on CL for $750, got the bed, a right side window regulator, AND delivery............$600. Thought that was a good deal!!! The bed is really clean, but the tailgate is an aftermarket so it will be going on CL. The bedside trim is also going to be sold.

The back is rather simple. Just use the factory spring bolt hole on the trailing arm, then drill holes for the bolts and piping to the top of the airbag. I will take some closer pics and post them for ya. The tank will reside on the driver side under the bed behind the rearend....well, that's the plan for now. The compressors (2 380C Chrome Viairs) will be mounted to the frame, just have not made up my mind yet on that.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Thanks Hart_Rod!!! Hey Nuke1, been checkin out your build too.....SWEET. I agree with you, the rims look great with the trim on the bed. I have already filled the trim holes everywhere else, but it would make a nice change when I want to give my ride a different look in the future!

I do have one other question for you, whatever happened to your bike, i am looking for an engine for one. just curious? BTW i know all about wrecking those, been down many times also. Stupidity once and the rest have been by a matter of choice, either hit the car cutting me off or put her down, well the road looks better to me than being under a car!

Glad to see you are still around to build this truck!!! I still have the front half of the bike, just could not bring myself to get rid of it yet. We had to cut it in half to get the motor out.....sold it to a guy in Dallas, he is using it in a mini sprint car. This was actually my first wreck, but had laid one down a few years back. Still have a few items left from the bike, but not much. BTW....the bed you cut looks great, may consider that in the future. Keep up the great work.

Nope. I bought the bed in that condition to move my project forward a month or so. Very little needs to be done to it. Wish I was that fast on the cab!!!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Here are some new pics.....cause everyone likes pics. I put the bed on that I bought and put my rim on the back to see how much space I have while running bags and 22X10 rims.....no issues!! There is about 1.5 inches to the fender well and about 1 inch to the lip of the bed. Still need to cut the bumpstops to lower it another 1.5 to 2.5 inches in the back. Yeah...that's a chicken coup in the corner of the lot with a couple of yardbirds in it.

And for all the questions I have read in other threads about gas tanks hanging too low, here is a pic of the Summit tank with the bed on.

Still sandblasting, priming, painting, clear coating parts. Compressor went out so I can't powdercoat right now. Hopefully that will be fixed soon and I can start powdercoating this stuff again.

It is actually my freinds long time dream that came true. We enjoy the shop very much. It's got 5 bays and it's about 25 ft deep, and there are two nice little workshops behind it for parts storage and other stuff. Guess I need to get some pics up of his project and the shop. Here is a couple of his project in the shop. **Note the attack cat layin by his frame, he watches the shop for us......seriously. He is the meanest cat I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.....but Tiger is cool.
