Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Ok, 7 months later, and I FINALLY HAVE AN UPDATE!!!
Here is what has happened the last few months... I left you all right as we got the compressor/tanks mounted. We then trew the bed on and got the truck in its final coat of primer and initial guide coat. Oh yea, and played around with the bags Next up was stripping the rest of the truck of everything. Got the front clip off, engine out, interior stripped Ok, so Im gonna get some heat and i might get some love, but I cut the dash. I smoothed out the radio, ashtray, ignition hole, climate control, and cig lighter hole. Then shaved the firewall. the wire rail and heater boxes shaved. Gave the frame the cleaning its needed for the last 20+ years Shot some color on the thing Coated up the frame, nice and shiny Sprayed the interior flat black. The plan with this is to have the whole inner cab flat black, while keeping the dash and the doors the exterior color. It is an actual flat black paint with flattened clear, not just flat black primer if you are wondering Gave the temporary engine some color love and some chrome goodies we had laying around the shop. Then put her back in As she sits right now. I ordered all new window rubber and door mouldings. Once the glass and shocks are in, the bed goes on for the last time!!! The bed sitting next to her same year sister(aka my dads 71) I am rhino lining just the rippled bed floor, just in case you were wondering why the floor isnt painted Oh, the person who guesses the color correctly gets a prize! Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Yea, thats exactly what was done. If you have a good grinder, its shouldnt take too much to grind down.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
thats not to bad actually... and on the install side,,, that kit looks pretty complete.... whould you say it was easy enough to install or were there some ruff spots. I thought of converting mine to air ride a couple times, im stil hesistating... i dont wanna loose any bed space with the tank and compressors, i really like the frame mount idea.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Then my only other guess would have to be Tonka orange... ???
Doesnt sound to hard put like that! and yeah really love the mounting place that was chosen... out of sight out of mind! Great for a sleeper look! Do them compressors make a whole lot of noise.. i imagine they dont go off all that much if you dont play around with it once the ride hight is set. Thaks for all the info man, its helping convince me to think about it more seriously. Id love to know how it handles in turns ans bumpy roads. Must be real smooth! |
