Has anyone done a static drop and running 20's or bigger? I only see 20's on bagged trucks. Im looking to change my supension but i dont want to drop my truck to the ground, i just want the tires to meet the fenders. I think i can achive this with dropped spindals and springs and a nice set of 20's but i'd like to see pics of someones truck who has done this. I think the biggest rims ive seen so far are 17's ..... Is there a reason for this?

I think it's just because our "group" as a whole just thinks they look bad. Of the few that do have big rims, I've seen maybe 2 that look "right"

Do you have a bigger picture? I have the same size tires and rims on mine and I was wondering what a longbox would look like lowered. I really like the way yours looks!

bad69, i think that looks really good but i just have one question ..... why are the rear rims tucked back inside the wheel well so much further than the front rims?

That was a concern i had about lowering my truck too much. I wanted to do a similar static drop by using the 2.5 lowered spindals and 2" and 6" drop springs but i didnt want to have my wheels not sit flush with the bedside and exterior. Is it just the type of rims or is it because of the way its dropped?

I really like the boyd 20's ive seen on alot of the trucks but they were all bagged .... does that make a difference in the way the rim aligns with the distance relative to the wheel well or is it just a charicteristic of certain rims and their spacing?

the wheels are originally designed to fit a late model gmc, they have a more negative offset, I plan on having american racing build me a 20x12" wheel to fill out the wheel well better(I have 6 lug axles) a different wheel with a different offset would probably fit alot better.

Here is mine as the process of lowering/restoring is happening. 2.5" ECE lowered spindals with 2" drop Ground Force Springs for the front and 4" ECE lowered coils in the back:

CPP 2.5" drop spindles and ECE stock coils in front. Rear is ECE 4" drop coils with adj. panhard bar and shock relocators. I'm thinking of going to 5" in the rear though, help the wheel gaps even out. Wheels are 17x8 Weld Techstar 5 tires are 255-50-17 Kuhmo ECSTA STX

Wow, that orange truck is WAYYYY too clean for my tastes. Look at that engine compartment. gah. Someone throw some dirt in there or something. Great deal for 10 grand though.
