That's what it comes down to. I've been taken wrong before, even got a thread closed once (bs'n with a friend and it was mistaken for a pissing match) but board members that have met me first hand (50 or more so far) know that I'm just not like that. I'm also not a person who would take "constructive criticism" as bashing. I may even offer some back to ya. (maybe not, that could be taken as a pissing match)

This board is full of kindhearted lightweight bashers. Yes, there's an oxymoron in there somewhere. Seriously, this board is overwhelmingly populated by real men and women who don't take themselves too seriously. 67-72chevytrucks is the best BB I've found. It must be. Its members put up with me.

I dunno.I'll agree with outright cold hearted bashing being wrong, but I think constructive critizism is a great thing.I sure wouldn't wanna have everyone say my truck looked/ran great just to be polite.Sometimes another persons prospective is a very good thing.
I don't recall ever seeing a blatant case of bashing on this board in my short time here.

I guess i missed any problems here over the last 6 months or so since a couple real trouble makers were given the boot. I really think that we get along better than any other board i've been a part of.

67chevyredneck-- i bet you are taking someone's ribbing or joking around as a real insult. You have to understand that even though we haven't met each other, we all feel like buddies and it is required for buddies to give each other a hard time once in a while.

Who cares if other board members like your truck?

I never had anyone give me any money to buy parts, so since I'm footing the bill, I please myself, and myself only.

Everybody likes different things and have different ideas. If we all like the same thing it would be boring just like all the new cars out there. They all look like jellybeans just different colors.

The reasonable man adapts to the world around him.
The unreasonable man does everting possible to change the
world to suit him.
Therefore all progress depends on unreasonable men.
A shrink told me that our anger comes from our expectation of
others. When someone cuts us off, we get mad. Why? We expect
better of them. Our wife says we did something wrong, and we
get mad. Why? Apparently we didn't think we did anything wrong.
If you expect that everyone be polite an cordial, you are going to
be a very angry and bitter person. If you want to lower your stress
level, lower your expectations! Get on this board and assume
you'll be treated like Jesus in "The Passion." When you are, you
won't be angry because it is what you expect, and when you are
not treated bad, you'll be pleasently surprised!
It could be worse! You could be in your truck at the bottom of the
Indian Ocean!
People should be polite. But people should do alot of things they
don't. I don't like some of the stuff I read, but oh well! I can turn
off the computer and go play with my kids.

And things that people put on Ebay like ricers with trash cans cut in half as a hood scoop and plywood fins

Most criticism seems to be directed in that nature, but if you stick your neck out to give advice and you are (wrong ) and we all hate to be wrong then sometimes you have to take your lumps and go on.

I disagree with the theory that if your truck/vehicle isn't in any better than the one your bashing, then you don't have a right to express your opinion about it, whether it be negative or positive. Regardless of the condition of your vehicle, you still have an opinion about others', and there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to express it. The only people that your opinion really bothers, are the people that place too much value on it. And in my mind, that's their problem.

Even Cain and Abel could not see eye to eye! I do not believe perfect strangers would
ever just get along! If so there would be no wars. If you make no mistakes then you are not human. The winners are the ones who can work out the minor differences and
find mutual common ground. There a fool who speaks! LOL

I am a member of a few boards and most of them are pure filth. Every board will have a few bad apples but that is what makes that world an interesting place. I agree that opinions need to expressed but there is a tactful way to say most things, especially if you know that it will hurt the author of the post. Every once in a while I post pics of my 72' just to get a reaction and see what people think, which means that I want everyones opinion.

You guys are great and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I know my truck is ugly and probably will be for a while. I have a LONG way to go on my truck and I have heard some people (not on this board but around my home and at work) say certain critical things about it but the way I see it is ..#1 It's mine not theirs #2 It's paid for. #3 I'M the one building it (even though I'm always open to ideas or opinions) #4 opinions are like a--holes.... everybody's got one but some of them stink! I have always found the help I needed or was looking for here and have also help a couple of people who were going to do the same thing I've already done so I shared info and photos with them. It' always easier to do something when you have more info and it doesn't take half as long and there won't be as many mistakes. I just want to say thanks to any and all who have helped me when I asked a questions. And if you want to make a comment about my truck feel free because as I said before....( see #1 through #4 above)

i think that some of it has to do with the fact that there is no tone of voice in letters. but i can see a P.O.S. truck looking good when the owner is starting the project, i can also see the fact that a owner is just using the truck as a beater and it aint going to get better. i can even see the time and effort that goes into a finished project, but if things are done half @$$ed and they think there truck is worth there weight in gold then i am going to say something. there are few trucks on this board that are worth 15000 bucks, and when some one is trying to sell one for that much you shouldnt see a wire under the hood wrapped around the heater hose JMHO
