while we're at the tanks and this threads going everywhere how low do those blazer tanks look under the back of the truck? I got a 3 - 5 drop and got the blazer tank but have been wondering bout this. Am i gonna be good?

Ok what years are those?
I will check out where the flange rests. I have the two straps holding the tank and the skid plate. Thats six bolts holding that tank up. I dont think its gonna come loose. The skid plate is snug against the bottom of the tank. Just looked and found these pics. I made my own cross members and the tank fits up snug against them. I didnt have to worry about it hanging down so much (which it doesnt at all) since its a 4x4. Last edited by Mudder; 02-16-2005 at 04:28 AM. |

The flange on mine is below the frame. The straps are what holds it up.

Nope no concern and its been that way for 10 years. There is no movement between them at all. I think the flange may rest against the bottom of the frame. Any area that touches metal to metal there is rubber.

what kind of rubber is between the frame and flange? i have some strips that came for it with the straps...

I just used a small rubber hose that was slit on th edges of the cross members and it it came close to the frame. I dont think its that close to the frame. I redid all of it about 3 years ago but am sorta confused of what all I changed. I would have to look at it. I put a new tank in 3 years ago. The first one had come from a junk yard.

I have to go by and get some other measurments today so I'll get the width of the inside of the frame today I hope. Been sitting here thinking about that flange. Not sure if it is even tight against the frame now that I think about it. I'll have to look at it.
