Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?
I thought you were asking how far it was lowered. You were not specific. Air ride has adjustable ride height.

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?
My post was not incorrect. I went to Google.com and searched for "air ride suspension". The first return is Air Ride Suspension's website.
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...ide+suspension Add that with the "C" notch and you have his suspension.

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?
It has dropped spindles in the front but it also has full air ride suspension also. I think it sits about 8" lower than my 68' when the bags are deflated.

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?
Thanks for the compliments everyone. The original owner should get the credit for putting it together though. It's unbelieveable how much that truck attracts attention.

Is the original owner a board member?

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?
He was at one time but I don't think he's been on here since I bought the truck. I think he was building a 59-60 Chevy wagon that sounded pretty cool.

Kxmoto wasn't sure about the wheel measurements but I have done a little checking and estimate his front 18x8s are 4" BS, and the rears are 20x10s with the reverse rim option, BS about 3 or 4". 3" is the minimum BS for this wheel with the reverse rim. Wheel info: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels...nter§ion=V After deciding I wanted my truck's stance to duplicate this truck, I found and installed a narrow-ish Ford 9" in my truck which is 58.25" wide hub to hub. My 9" is 7.75 narrower than the stock 71 rear-end, and after a few careful measurements I have decided to go with the minimum 3" BS on the rear 20" Torque Thrusts. I even bought a 68 front clip for my 71 to complete that look, but my truck will be torch red. Installing a Camaro rear-end isn't a true bolt in, you have to cut off the leaf spring pads, set your pinion angle, and weld on the angled pads for the trailing arm C-10 suspension. About the same as I had to do with the 9" I used. |
