Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?

Hmmm...looks like 20's in the rear (with large offset) and 18's in the front?

I'd be curious to see more information on that ride.

As far as I've heard he still owns it.

It used to belong to a member, Rotodyne was his name. I know he sold it to another boardmember but don't know who, and I believe I've seen it on collectorcartrader.com since then. I've got more pics of both if anybody wants them.

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?

I know that the camaro rear-end that is in it is narrower than the stock rear-end, so that gives him the ability to have more offset. I've PM'ed him to ask if he could shed some light on this thread, hopefully he will.

*EDIT* - He PM'ed me back and said that he'll post up when he gets a chance.

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?

Hey guys...
Thanks for the compliments! I didn't build it or install the rear-end but I may be able to help you all out.
The rear end is supposedly out of a 69' camaro. I measured it at 60" outside drum to drum. I would guess that it's 2-3 inches more narrow than the stock 12 bolt truck rear. It looks like its a bolt in job.
The front wheels are 18 x 8's and the rears are 20 x 10's. The backspacing on the rear rims are probably close to the absolute minimum offered. I don't have the exact measurements and the truck is put away for winter right now. It's a pretty tight squeeze. The rear frame is notched for additional clearance.
As far as updates, the interior has been freshened with new carpet and lots of dynamat. The seat got a pretty good scrubbing too. I've pieced together the missing underdash a/c ductwork but haven't put it in yet.
It's fun to drive...no doubt about it. I drove it to the Goodguys show in INDY last June and it was pictured in the magazine coverage for that event. There were tons of people passing up beautiful cars to come look at the truck. I was definately flattered. I'm probably going to end up selling it to my father this Spring. He would like to match the blue color with a pearl blue and also pearl the roof. I was going to stick a 383 stroker in it this winter but I may end up holding it back to stick in a 32 coupe I just bought last week.
Hope the info helps!

Re: anyone seen update on this blue truck?

thanks kxmotox and happy holidays!

If you can ever get the stats on the wheel spacing/offset (or find out from the person you bought it from), I would really love to know. I know it's such a common request for a lot of the guys with more "finished" trucks, and too many of the guys on the board seem to hold that information really secret, it's the hardest info to get out of anyone and probably the most crucial to getting your ride looking right....

Thanks for popping in and sharing. I hope you can find out the info on those front and rear wheels.

Now that I was made aware of my mistake.... which was a humble post, I can see that the only error on my part was prefacing that I may have overlooked the drop specs.... actually you are incorrect, as I read the link you provided AGAIN,

Congrats kxmotox247

Here’s the scoop on this truck:

I first saw this truck in person at the Good Guys Indianapolis car show back in 2003. At that time, the truck had just been put on the road.
The truck was originally a Tennessee truck and is very solid. It’s hard to believe but this truck only has 52,XXX miles on the odometer. The title said actual mileage and judging by the wear on some of the components, I believe it.
I know a lot of you have photos of this truck saved. It has a killer stance which is what attracted me to the truck in the first place. There’s something about big Torque-Thrust wheels that make every vehicle look good. I’m going to list some of the specs on this truck but feel free to ask me anything about it.
1967 Short Bed Fleetside – Small back window
Baby Blue in color…just a little lighter than the factory blue
Factory Air truck
350/350 swapped in at 40,000 miles
Flowmaster Mufflers
Air ride suspension
Dropped Spindles
Power disc brakes
“C” Notched Rear
Camaro Rear End
Power Steering
18” x 8” Front
20” x 10” Rear
Tilt Column
Tach
“Highlander” Seat (Come on...it gives this truck some serious character!!!)

Future plans for this truck:
As we all know, these projects never end. When I bought this truck, the interior was filthy. My girlfriend and I pulled the entire interior out and completely covered the floor and behind the gas tank in dyna-mat insulation. In some places we even doubled up. We steam cleaned the seat and scrubbed the vinyl for no less than 4 hours to get it clean. I installed the factory tach (Thanks GMC Paul!) and was able to get all of the gages working. I bought the steering wheel to match the rims. The only thing left to do on the interior is piece the rest of the A/C system together (missing the hoses, diverter, s-duct).
The engine compartment has a major overhaul planned. I’m not going to share the details yet…you’ll just have to watch the board for the before and after pictures!
