Project Copperhead from TV= Showpiece, all rebuilt new parts. My old GMC= Nice old truck, not perfect, but nice. I'm not trying to brag my own rig up (maybe a little) but thats the truth. It is a nice old truck. There isn't much rust on it, in it, or anywhere. Maybe it needs a couple cab corners, BIG DEAL! Its 40 years old, what would you expect? OOPS, got a little off track. Guess thats what happens when you get bored. |

I nominate this for the Half A$$ FAQ. Well done. My dad grew up in Africa in the bush, and most of his and my fixes are done with available resources. I learned today that a Japanese compliment for such and indevor is, "How well crafted that looks."
Keep craftin'

Andy---so far so good. Ever consider working for Coddington?? hehehe--kind of reminds me of my Dad's 60 Ford car where the trunk floor rotted away. He found an old kitchen table, took the legs off it and it fit the trunk floor perfect. So he gets out his drill and screws it to the remaining floor. Oh yea, 60 Fords have their gas tank under the trunk floor and when you drill into them, if you're lucky, all you have is a leak!! The Formica table top lasted longer then the car and dad never bothered to fix the gas tank hole as he could never afford to fill the tank anyway.

Re: How to half @ss a new bed floor.... or how NOT to do it
Well, I have my son with me this weekend. I know I'll buy the last needed sheet of ply wood, and if the weather holds out, I may get it cut and even painted.
However, I do have to work saturday, jay and I are going bowling and the movies, and I'm sure there will be a video game store stop in there somewhere.... so there's no tellin what I'll get done. |

Andy, your low budget ideas are great, I think that tons of people on this board use the ideas. I know that I will be doing the same thing to my longhorn bed. I don't have the 500 to 600 dollars to spend on a new wood bed.
