Re: What did you get done? 12/03

Thought I'd post a few pic's of the old 77.
My big accomplishment this weekend was pushing the truck out of the shop!!!!
I'm sick and tired of sanding in the shop. What a mess.
It's been very hard finding the time to work on this thing. Laziness is a terrible disease.
Anyone have the urge to sand?
I know I don't.

Ring,Ring,
Yeah,
Whats Mikey doing?
F*$&#%@^* sanding.....
That ALL you ever do?
No, Once every month or so I actually get to PAINT something.

Scored a Fire cabinet for my solvents from my neighbor who's cleaning shop along with some cool drawer cabinets.
Only problem is it's LOCKED and he can't remember "where" the keys are.
So dang cold here, for ARK anyway, I just been getting things lined out to start surgery on the Tanks rockers and cowl.
Got some 0.030 20 Guage Harris wire to try out on the sheet metal. Interested to SEE how well it does work. Supposed to be the sheet for sheet metal.

Hadn't seen your truck in a while, still my favorite box chevy, period. What size rims/tires are you running, did you change the sizes?

I was working in the freezing cold on my brakes. I have been having some major braking issues so I got a Russel braided brake line kit from Summit and put them on. Also put some new wheel cylinders, adjusters, hardware kit, and shoes on the back. Oh also had to put a new combination valve cuz my old one kept sticking...Now my truck stops better than ever!

7T7, What color are you planning on painting it, and what was the previous color? If you were a little closer i could give you a hand with the sanding. I know how you feel about being lazy, im about to start the body work on my truck, man i need another vehicle!

Thanx Ken.
The new color will almost be the same shade of grey as the old color.
I really have a jones to two tone it, but can’t decide on a bottom shade.
I was thinking maybe a silver?

Get someone to photoshop it. Are you keeping the factory trim?
How about Black? or a dark shade of grey.

Boy I gotta tell ya….that trim was driving me crazy. It was oxidizing and dented but the worst part was washing the truck and having the trim drip water for the next day or two! So the trim is history. As far as photshop, I have done a few photoshop paint jobs, but the more I do the more undecided I become.
I really want to keep the grey at the top and maybe silver, dark gray or black at the bottom.
I‘d also like to separate the two colors with a small gold stripe to keep the 1977 theme going.
Hell who knows it might just get a nice shade of pink with a big ol “Mary Kay” sticker on the back window and be done with.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
