i agree, i don't care what people think but im not sure if the long bed will fit well in the garage. I know the short bed will. my brother has 63 long bed ford and he measured it from bumper to bumper and my garage is 5-6 inches shorter. if anyone has a long bed c/20, could you measure from bumper to bumper. if no one can i'll measure this one im looking at in a couple of days.

Hello longhorn hows life AND HELLO ALL BOTHER TRUCKERS OF THE BOW TIES

WELL i BOUGHT A 1972 3/4 WITH LEAF SPRINGS VIN# CCE242Z158569

BUT LONGHORN EVER SENCE 1967 I HAVE NOT SEEN THE 3RD MEMBER ON ANY OF THE TRUCK AFTER 1967 IN THE 3/4 TON I READ SOME WHERE THEY WANTED TO GO TO THE OTHER REAR END DUE TO WHEN THEY HAD TO DO BRAKES ON THE 1960---1967 YOU HAD TO PULL THE AXLES OUT INSTEAD OF TAKING THE 8 LUG NUTS OFF AND TAKE THE 2 SCREWS OUT AND BANG ON DRUM AND IT SLIDE RIGHT OFF

nOW HERE IN CALIF MOST GUYS WANT THE 3/4 TRUCKS DUE TO THEY HAVE THE BETTER CABS CUS MOST OF THE TIME THEY WHERE STRICKLY USED FOR WORK NOT HORSEING AROUND

I BOUGHT MINE FOR 800.00 WITH VERY LITTLE CANCER IN IT FLOOR IN GRATE SHAPE BUT WITH VERY LITTLE CANCER WHERE THE DOOR SEAL ARE THAT IS WHERE THE BADEST CANCER THERE IS ON ONE SIDE THE DRIVERS SIDE

I'M USING THIS THIS TRUCK FOR MY NEXT WORK TRUCK ITS ALL GOING BACK STOCK IT WILL COST ME $7000.00 TOBRING IT BACK TO BRAND NEW

ALL NEW BUSHINGS ALL THE NEW INTIER NEW HEATER CORE NEW GLASS AND ALL NEW RUBBER ALL NEW WIRE HARNESS NEW HITCH TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLER NEW RADIATOR 4 CORE

Re: New guy with questions, imagine that :-)

If You Want To Have A 1/2 Ton I Say Find A 1972--1987 1/2 Ton Ripp Everything From Under The 1972 3/4 Ton And Swap It With The Newer 1/2ton Stuff Save You A Lot Of Time With In 2 Weeks You Can Convert A 3/4 Ton To A 1/2 Ton And You Can Use All The Brake Lines But The Rear End Will Mostly Be Leaf Springs

And Who Ever Said Its Hard To Lower A Leaf Spring Truck I Think They Got It Down To A Art Sence They Have Been Lowering 1985--2006 Leaf Sping Trucks Here In Calif In Coil Springs Its The Same Way Just C Challen The Rear Frame And Get Lowering Spings For The Rear And If You Really Want Anice Set Up You Can Go Throw Curry That Makes The 1/2 Ton Ford 9 Inch Built With All The Ciol Or Leaf Spring Set Up On The Rear End And Have The Rear End Built For You For $2500-3500.00 But Thats Me If I Wanted A Rear End To Take "horse Power" It Will Just From Right In To Channlle And Lower The Truck Cost You At A Lowering Shope 900 --1200 To Use Spin Teck Or Force One Lowering Kitsthats What The Price Is Here In Calif

No problem having something with balls as far as this truck is concerned. However, braking and turning can hardly be put it the same sentence as a 3/4 ton P/U!

Tell me about it.When I got mine it had split-rims and tubed bias-plies (6.50x16s i think). Now that I have regular wheels and good radials I can actually go around corners.-cougar

Re: New guy with questions, imagine that :-)

Seems to me $500 is a great price for a all-one-color driver...try it, you might like it; slider, nice back bumper, bed storage box and a cool rail-thingy on the bedsides! An affordable way of finding out if these trucks are really you. Score the truck then worry about the rearend. You can' lose at that price but figure on finding 18' of parking space. E

Re: New guy with questions, imagine that :-)

I think I'm gonna buy it. I just might have to take the bed and bumper brackets off to fit the truck in which I would do anyway to start the tear down process.

Re: New guy with questions, imagine that :-)

Does it happen to come with a licence plate? If you're buying it in the "ghetto" or anywhere else for that matter, make sure the thing is legit before forking over the hard currency.
Some guy GAVE me a VW once and a while later the city came by and put a "Denver Boot" on it and said I had a ton of unpaid parking tickets!

lol, that sucks. I have some connections in the PD here and have had the VIN run already. I just found a 65 long bed down the road with an original V8 so if the guy comes with a good price on that, I might have two long bed chevys in my yard soon.....wife is gonna be pissed :-)

lmao......I agree 100%

the eaton rear was used on the 6cyl and smallblock trucks. It is easy to swap it out for a newer rear end tho.It is a great looking truck for that price.I have paid more for a non-runner be for
