Re: C notch plans?

When does a 'C' notch become necessary?
4"...5"?
How low can you go before this is necessary?

Thats a good question. MY truck has leaf springs & I used a flip kit to lower it. The flip kit lowered the rear bumper close to 6" & the rear end doesnt hit the frame. With the box on & regular driving I dont think it will hit but it is going to be real close. If I ever haul anything, Im sure it will hit. Its a good idea to do just to be safe...

Re: C notch plans?

I have 5" drop springs for the rear of my 68. It's pretty close to the bumpstops. I'll need a notch to go lower. I'm also not sure if my drop is a "true" 5" as it's coil springs.

Re: C notch plans?

With just a little weight in the back of my truck (300#), my truck (5" drop) bottomed like crazy. I c-notched it and relocated the shocks, problem solved.
