Re: Hello from the new guy

Wow, where do I start? First of all WELCOME to the new guy from yet another Washingtonian. Secondly to all of you who had less than lucrative road trips looking for new rigs. I too, feel your pain, I could tell several similar stories...BUT I will say at least you're in the great N.W. and the road trip scenery was top notch, IMO. Finally to VT....didn't you once live live here too?

Yes, I agree the scenery is the best, and I do enjoy driving, so my excursions are not a great loss. I will find one one of these days (fingers crossed).

Don't give up, I was not looking for another Blazer when I found mine. It was less then 5 miles from my house, and I knew the people who owned it. They have a body shop and had recently traded some work to get it and then decided not to keep it. Now I have to sell my other one, but it is worth it to get mine. What kind of budget are you on and what kind of condition are you looking for? I see a few down here (Albany area) now and again.

Oh, I won't give up. I saw what seemed like hundreds for sale around here, then when I am ready, *poof* they dry up. My budget depends on the truck, I can go from $1500 to $15,000 for the right one.

Ideally, a no rust original paint (or nicer repaint) no engne or tranny, stock running gear. I plan on 383 stroker (maybe EFI), 700r4, 205, 3/4 ton gear, full cage and fairly stock interior. Just a well built vehicle that can get me and the family back home. I am willing to build it, just have to find the right starting point.

Small world- I grew up in North Albany (actually off Hwy 20) Most of my family is still there. If you do see anything, please let me know! Thanks.

No kidding it's a small world, I grew up in North Albany myself. I lived off Scenic Drive not to far from Oak Grove School. My parents still live there ands if all goes well, we will be buying their place next year.

Ahh, Scenic drive. Growing up my brother's best friend lived at the very top of Hurleywood (what a name) Drive. We lived on Creswell Lane (that place sure went down hill) and would ride up and down Scenic, over to Oak Grove School, up and down Gibson Hill where my best friend lived and played all over the area.

Congrats on the house- is it one of the farm houses out that way? That place sure has gone bonkers with building the last few years hasn't it?

Re: Hello from the new guy

Welcome from the eastside of the state. Nice ride - wish mine was half as nice, but I don't complain since I got a screamin deal. Won't have it on or off the road for a while, but I want to do it right the first time. Congrats & I'll keep an eye out for Blazers for sale over here. It's funny - seemes we're all connected in other ways than just the board. I've got fam in Oregon City - was there for Easter/Spring break. Hope to make it to some shows, too! (thanks Bouncy!)
