Re: Wire Haness Kit Experiences

i bought a kit from gas alley street rods and it wasn't that hard to install, it was figuring out where some of the wires went to was kind of a pain. it was only a few and i felt like a tard when i finally figured it out. their customer service is pretty good and if their tech support can't answer your question then the manufacturer can, and they got some nifty stuff for hotrods and ratrods as well

Re: Wire Haness Kit Experiences

I have basic knowledge of electricity. I'm thinking about getting a 18 circuit wire harness kit. Since I'm installing a 59 Impala dash in my 65 truck is there anything that I need to pay attention to such as gauge, idiot light connections. I know this is kind of a vauge question, but I'm in my thinking stage of the electrical portion of this conversion. I need to order my harness so if there is anything else that I might need. I have the original harness from the Impala. I will not be using it, but at least I have it to look at. I'm thinking of getting new replacement factory style gauges to keep the vintage look. Thanks for any input.

Re: Wire Haness Kit Experiences

Id check out Ron Francis wire works thats where i got mine, its a really cool kit you just tell them what you have and they will custom build it and its really easy to install too. I also got a complete grounding kit from front to back, its a pretty good setup.

I still haven't found anyone that makes bezels for GMC's. All the custom one's i've seen were homemade.

Check out Boese. THey have an aluminum dash insert for 62-66 GMC's. They also have setups for several different types of gauges. You'll have to dig a little on the site, couldn't directly link to the listing of GMC stuff. I plan to get one when it comes that time in my build.
