Re: Spray in bedliner

ive been quoted 600 bucks for my long step bed!! i can't talk myself into spending that kind of money on it. probably end up doing the "can and roller" and do my best to do it right. at this point the money is better spent elsewhere.

That's basically my take on it too. Although if I were done with my truck, I'd be getting the bed sprayed like that!

If you look on my build thread about 1/2 way down, you can see what I did: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=181633
However, the reason mine doesn't chip, crack, fade, or deteriorate is because I have a vinyl tonneau cover on the bed 99.9% of the time, and I don't really use the bed for much.

Re: Spray in bedliner

My father has Rhinoliner in his '71 color matched to the hugger orange paint. It's dangerously slippery when it gets wet and has not held up to daily use/hauling.

On the other hand we both had our '05 GMC 2500HDs sprayed with Line-X and it's been fantastic. Plus you get a great warranty.

Re: Spray in bedliner

since the p.o. put a nice thick sheat of steal (like 1/4 inch) for my bed bottom I might try to do somthing creative like lay a big bowtie in the bottom and coat over it to make a cool raised design.

Re: Spray in bedliner

I've got a Line-x in my CST and a GatorHyde in my C20....I like them both. Alex sprayed the C-20 and did a FINE job....and I've hauled a lot of stuff in it so far with no problems. I like the looks and finish of the GatorHyde better than any of the liners I've seen....including Line-x. Can't beat Alex's price and workmanship either....

Re: Spray in bedliner

I'm doing the entire bed and floor boards of my blazer because it's going to be a roadster. I was going to use the Herculiner, but have decided to have it done professionally. Does anybody have pics of the Speedliner?? There is only Rhino, Line-X, and Speedliner around here. I have Rhino on my Stepside. Don't have any problems with it but I don't really use it and it sits in my garage. Just looking for other options.

I don't ever just quote just "prep" ...if I had to...I would say 1.5 hrs and $75.00. That includes all the covering of the truck wire taping off, and nylon cup brush scuffing.

As for Speedliner...I believe (tell me if this is wrong) it is a LOW pressure, COLD applied, LONG Dry time liner. Straight PolyUrethane. IMO...not one I would choose.

yeah im debating if im going to scrape it, or if im gonna try to sand it.

The brake fluid thing was a joke, scaping and peelin is a good way to start as long as the liner is strong enough to not tear apart when you finally get underneath it and try to peel it up, wire wheel will help in areas like the top of your inner bedsides, areas that cant be scrapped up. But the brake fliud will definatly eat up the liner, its one of the only things that will hurt it.

ChevyDude I agree on the cold liners thats why I dont really like rhino, never dealt with a speedliner though

LNX is a good product in MY OPINION. They are a Hybrid Polyurethane/PolyUrea...hot, high pressure, 6 sec dry time...very similar to GatorHyde.

Holy Cow!!! Use some punctuation, I almost passed out!

Re: Spray in bedliner

I did a DIY a few years ago called Rattleguard. It's peeling now, and I don't use my truck that often, and I'm pretty easy on it.

Next time I'll go with a pro.

My local body shop does "Eagle Liner", but I've never head of it. Anyone familiar with it?
