How does the motor pull it along? I would like to put a lq9 in a 4x4 with a sm465. That is one sweet ride

Re: The burbs new look.

The motor pulls it just fine, especially considering the altitude hear. I put a small cam ( 210/218, 551/551, 114 LSA ) in it when I did the tire swap so that helped offset the weight increase. It'll cruise all day long at 70-80 mph, with plenty of pedal left, no problem. Up in the mountains, above about 6000', it won't quite hold speed ( 70 mph ) with the converter locked, up some hills, but otherwise does just fine. I would like to swap the gears eventually to get a little more off the line. It's got 4.10's right now. I'm thinking 4.88's would be awesome and still only be 2200ish rpm on the freeway.
What other pics would you like? I'm finishing up the interior makeover this weekend, so I'll be sure to get some pics up of that.
Thanks again for the compliments!!

Re: The burbs new look.

Not a whole lot is new. This biggest change would be that the interior is all one color finally. I sanded down the entire interior to bare metal and shot a coat of self etching primer. It's not light grey and pretty much ready for paint. I also got the new heater/a/c box installed. It's out of a 92 chevy pickup. I added all the dash vents like a factory a/c cab would have, so it's much more comfortable now. Heats up inside 10x faster. I've also swapped out the t-case to a NP-261 with manual shift. The electric NP-246 was starting to suck with having the front driveshaft always spinning.
I also finally have a back seat again. I got a set of front buckets and rear 60/40 bench out of a 2000 Tahoe. The rear bench folds down almost flush with the back floor so I still have all the room if i need it. O yeah, it's also got brand new Trim Parts brand carpet in the entire truck, including behind the rear seat.
Well, I guess that's a descent amount after all.
I'm actually probably going to put it up for sale here in about a month or two. Watch for an infamous "what's it worth" thread with full details and pics on the truck, cause I really have no idea what to ask for it. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

Re: The burbs new look.

The work is the fun part to me. Once something is done, or close to it, like the burb, I get bored with it. I've never owned the same vehicle more than 1 1/2 years. You might say I have a short attention span with cars/trucks. Thanks again for the compliments!

Re: The burbs new look.

Killer Suburban!!The backspace has to pretty much be about 4"-4 1/2" on these trucks. The frame width is what dictates the axle width. If you narrow the axle the tires will hit the frame when you turn.

Re: The burbs new look.

Am I missing something when you say the tires will hit the frame? Right now at full lock, the tire is a good 8" from the frame. The wheels are 4 1/2" back space.
