The burbs new look.
Here's some new pics of the burb. I just got done with the 14 bolt, Ford Dana 44 high pinion, rear disc brake, 38x15.50r16 swap. The lift is 6" with both axles moved back 1". Shot the primer last weekend so now I can start finishing the body work.

Re: The burbs new look.
Yes, MT Classic II's, 16x12. It will be this color till this fall, even though I don't really like it. It has more shine than I'd wanted it to, so it looks like a lower cost paint job in my opinion. Then most of it will be getting sanded off in preperation for paint. I have to say, spraying something this big was a little bit of a challenge. Especially since I'd never done it before. The roof is HUGE!
Thanks for the compliments!

Looks great ! I cant tell in the pics but did you use )rates to move the axles and are you going to trim the fenders any or is it just a driver.

That is very nice! There is nothing like the sight of a lifted 67-72 Burb. That gets your attention for sure.

Re: The burbs new look.
To move the axles I used a new spring perch ( had to anyway ) with an off set pin whole in the rear. And in the front I made my own "0" rate block and welded it to the axle. It's only 3/4" thick so nothing crazy. It's just a driver that won't see anything more than fireroads so I don't plan to cut the fenders at all. I'd like to eventually get the axles narrowed to bring the tires back into the wheel well completely. That would give me a little more clearance as well. I like the fenders as crammed as posable with tire!

Re: The burbs new look.
The wheels are 16x12. They are 37.5" tall. The tread is 12.5" wide and at the widest part off the side biters, just under 16" wide. Made my old BFG mud 35x12.5's look tiny. Did you have 11" of tread or is that the sidewall width?

Re: The burbs new look.
Thanks My tread was 11. Im trying to decide on new tires and cant make up my mind. I have been thining og going with 37 12.50 hummer tires but i odnt think they will be wide enough for me.

Re: The burbs new look.
How wide are you wanting? I actually wish mine were about an inch narrower. I didn't want this wide but got such a good deal on them, I couldn't resist. I don't like that they stick out past the fender. If I keep the truck, I might look into getting the axles narrowed. What kind of tires did you have? I've never seen a 12.50 with that much tread width.

Re: The burbs new look.
There a set of buck shots there not bad tires I just want them bigger and I like the wider look it doesnt bother me if they stick out past the fenders. I dont have a paint job to worry about. you need to check out the hummer tires if you dont want a wide tire they would not stick out so far I think changing you rims would fix the trouble easier then shorting the axles that is a $$$ thing to have done.
Here is a set of 37 hummer tires on a truck you can see they are a true 37 tire. and they dont stick out past the fenders. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=261824

Re: The burbs new look.
Changing rims would definetley be the easiest way to go. The problem is, I'm very, very picky about wheels on a truck. I've never had much luck finding wheels with options for the back spacing. Everything I found in a 16x12 were all 4 1/2" backspace. I'd love about a 5 1/2 or 6". Any suggestions on brands to look at?
