Re: fuel injected engine for my 66????

I was also thinking about fuel-injection, a friend of mine told me where I can get a 8.0 leter already pulled and complete for 3500.00$ but as crazy as this may sound to some of you, I think it will be too much for my truck. I just like to drive it not try to get killed in it.... besides it has enough power with the 302...

Are you running one of the new sequential/coil on plug megasquirts? What kind of meagsquirt do you have going on if not the new sequential version? Do tell.

Re: fuel injected engine for my 66????

Right now i'm running MS1-extra. I'm also switching off with msII-extra. Both work, I am having a crank trigger issue. Its not bad.. I use the truck as a daily driver. Its just not up to full potential yet.

As far as running the coils. They can be triggered right off the led output in a wasted spart configuration with no issues at all.

The engine is actually from a 2005 suburban I picked it up from the j/y for 1000$ and included the transmission and acc with only 6k miles. Swaped to a drive by cable throttle body and swapped coil with the wifes 03 tahoe only because of clearence to the firewall. GM switched to a sqaure coil some time in 05.

So, you use the 8 coils like the ford edis systems firing 2 cylinders at once? I thought you might be a tester for B&G at first.

Re: fuel injected engine for my 66????

For me sequential fuel injection is not needed since I don't have the ability to tune each individual cylinders. I also already have a MS1 and a MS2 computer built so in my situation its just kind of a waste of resources. The new board is definitely sweet and is a good option if someone doesn't want to build their own board. I’m just waiting for the GPIO board so I can control the trans and get rid of the tci tranc computer..

To the OP megasquirt is also a good cheap way to run a tbi or tpi.......
