Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
im not sure what type of diff. it is? it was in the truck when i got it. the drop technique was also included by the P.O. haha, the front coils were also cut to go along with it!

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
yea i was hoping to go alumin for that reason. i dont plan on dragging much if any but if i decide to, then ill be ready for it, ya know!
but then again, i could always make an metal case to surround the cell. thanks, Phil

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
truck is coming good, somewhere along the line when i get more time and money, i wanna do the same. my opinion would be to put the fuel cell in the bed just for safety reasons if you do decide to drag ya know. cause im sure you know that slightest gas leak with be trouble but just my opinion. but keep up the good work...

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
If you want a cheap, good tank build it yourself. I built mine out of 16 gauge steel to fit the rear rails perfectly and you can't see it from the side or back. Even holds 25 gallons and fills inside the bed near the taillight/bed pocket. Coated the inside with fuel tank sealer ($20) and it holds 20psi when I pressure tested it. I only have $50 in the tank start to finish.

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
Looks good bro, keep it up
BTW, that would be a step notch, not a C notch How deep did you make the step notch ??? Cuz if its less than 8" then you prolly wont be laying frame without really short tires Matt |
