Bagged '68 layin frame
alright, now that racing season and school is over with, im gonna try to get some work in on my '68 GMC. i got a lot of parts for it already, i just gotta get workin on it. right now i got the bed off, fenders, and motor out. next step is to get on the trailer and up to my dad's machine shop to C-notch the frame, and "Z" the frame in the front. the major plans for the truck:
-Air Bags -6.0 Vortec engine out of a newer truck -Custom interior -PPG Karisma Blue paint, maybe with a black two-tone -maybe some corvette c6 wheels? Ill get some pics of the truck in one piece on here soon, also heres a pic of the air bag kit that i already have sitting in the garage.

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
ok heres the pics of the truck before i took it apart, the guy that had it before me did a few things to it, but he didnt restore some things properly, like rust, as you can see at the bottom of the doors, but that will come a lil later

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
i got bored today, so i decided to start welding the c-notch. didnt get too far, bc i decided that my 110 mig probably wont weld strong enough. anyways i will hopefully be able to finish the rest next week sometime.
More pics of the truck...

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
Looking good! Where did you purchase your c-notch from? It looks like an FBI kit right? Also how big is the notch? Later

Re: Bagged '68 layin frame
Thanks! your right i got it from fbi, i actually bought the whole air bag kit from them. if i remember right, it notches the frame 9 inches from the top of the frame rails, if not 9 its at least 8. the only thing i didnt like about it was the fact that the top and bottom are a lot wider than the sides on the frame, but im gonna cut down the sides and take care of it.

You have a nice project going. Is that a Dana 44 rear differential??
I noticed the rear leafs had the low buck drop technique done to them.......hehehehe.
