Hi Larry and thank you for the imput. I'm happy to have got it sorted out and behind me now. Being that this is the first time to get a renewal since I lost my eye one tends to create a huge monster out of the guy down town with the yellow paper that is your new interm licence.

All the best to you guy's over the holidays as well and I pray that you all will have a great 2008!

I guess this is about as a good time as any to say that I never really talk much about my vision problems. I sit back and I find myself visiting this thread and reading what people have posted and I can't help but feel really blessed by all of you that have taken the time to write in and share. One thing comes to mind is the obvious we are a community of guy's and gal's that love our trucks. What has also come through loud and clear is that with in this community of members there is a smaller community that are visually impaired and if your anything like me you tend to think when your working on your truck (and things are not going right) for the 10th time that you are the only one, your all alone. Well not anymore can I feel like this because of the members who have posted to this thread. I never really felt that I would have ever written a reply to a thread like this but it would just not be right not to thank you all personally for the change that you all have made in my thinking towards my visual impairment.

Thanks for being there, and have a great 2008 and God's blessing be upon you all.

john.

Re: One Eyed Drivers Laws

Thanks for that note John. I have a funny story about my two mirrors that happened just today. I don't like to work on my truck by the street so I pulled it up the neighbors adjacent lot to install the cheapo temp mirrors I bought this morning. Yes to keep it legal for my license. I am drilling the holes for the mount and I look up and a police car has just pulled up. He gets out and asked what I was doing. I guess I really looked like I was trying to break in. I told him what I was doing and then he asked "what year is that?" I thanked him for making sure everything in my neighborhood was on the up and up. Moral, Still gettin' hassled by that silly right hand mirror. I can't even see anything out of it but it is there. Took the truck for a spin and felt even better than I did before. I even left a little black mark for old times sake.

Hey Dave maybe we could just all get those bicycle helmets that have the little round mirrors hanging off them. All kidding aside I was thinking if I had to put a mirror on mine I might go for an old style 72' and older Corvette mirror. I know the 67's have the Bow Tie on them. I think they could work. Zip Corvette is a good place to look on line.
