Re: performance upgrades?

Yeah, $500 a piece, since he's looking at installed price, I can only imagine you're looking at $1500 or more

Re: performance upgrades?

How about putting 8 superchargers on it, one for each cylinder. That will get those wheels a spinning.

The solution to low power is not to add a trick intake, unless you run a parts counter.
First you do a complete TUNE-UP .
I would recommend that you get a service manual (even a Haynes is better than nothing) and carefully check/fix everything listed under tune-up.
A motor that is not running smoothly, with improper ignition timing,,incorrect fuel/air mixture, vacuum leaks, wrong spark plug gap,bad wires, old pittted points with dwell out of spec ETC just may seem to need a $200 manifold but really you should check all the above and more before even thinking about performance mods.
I agree with everything Longhorn says. It sounds like you a bit new to this. And probably a fan of fast and the furious movies. No offense intended if you are not . A good manual will help you tons. Will also help you get it running right when you start changing parts. Its a better plan then to keep running back to the mechanic everytime you change something.

Throwing money and parts at it will eventually work. But its the long and expensive road. There are plenty of articles online. Builds people have done, builds from hot rod magazines, and TV shows. Try and do a little research and find a project someone has done, that fits your wallet. You may find exactly what you are looking for.

Re: performance upgrades?

We all like to think that what we are building is "unique" and our own ideas. But in reality what we are building probably has been done 1000 times already. I am not saying just copy something someone else's idea. But it might point you in a direction. Even stir some of your own ideas up.

I know, just messing around. I don't know who built that '57 in that pic but they must be loaded.
