Re: Welp..I cranked my torsion bars....

Remember that you should really get your alignment checked when you drop this. Specifically you need to make sure that the camber is still set right.

Re: Welp..I cranked my torsion bars....

Depending on how rusty they are in the arms, the can be a pain. A pipe and big hammer will do the trick (after removing the adjuster bolt and unbolting the torsion crossmember. easy.). There are only six splines, so rotate inward one spline and the torsion bar geometry returns almost stock and the truck stays low!

Re: Welp..I cranked my torsion bars....

Remember you can always do it the GF way (ghetto-fabulous)...which involves busting out your torch, heat up the center of the torsion bar and slowly watch it come down....remove heat when desired height is reached.

Re: Welp..I cranked my torsion bars....

Hi fellas, The torsion bar trick didn't work i'm afraid. They popped out much easier than i thought but after turning them on spline they didn't sit back in the crossmember properly and i also think if i did let it back of the jack like this the tyres would have hit the inner arches!
Is the ghetto method tried and tested or even recommended!?
Steve.
